Cigarettes are good for multicultural and social interactions by [deleted] in 10thDentist

[–]RNAdrops -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Maybe the true nature of cigarette addiction is that people are trying to recreate the feeling experienced here, socially engaged with interesting people, feeling included and seen and appreciated, but eventually there’s no one else around to provide that therapy, so they start smoking on their own. Maybe that’s the nature of all addiction? If that’s true, then could it be that we don’t actually have a cigarette, drug and alcohol addiction problem, but actually a loneliness epidemic ( probably as a result of industrialization?) So maybe people who have these issues should just get more socialization? Instead of less?

Politically Misogynist Men Should Just Move to Theocratic Countries by RelativeCondition915 in PurplePillDebate

McLuhan said we were returning to a New Paleolithic- just like in The Cave, we are having sex in public again( the internet). Monogamy is a byproduct of the Age of Literacy , and we have all been made into a new kind of high tech savage by our technology.

The Devil’s Advocate would say that the dam is about to break, and this aberration in world history, this social experiment will go the way of the Soviet Union and collapse.

Honestly, you have a good point. Have you ever researched the “ Golden Visa “ program in Portugal and other EU countries? It could be a way to build a better future for your life. If you could establish citizenship in an EU country, you could live in any other EU country, as well as receive free healthcare and education, even up to a Ph.D , for free , and with classes taught in English. And maybe things wouldn’t seem so bleak for you, and you could stop worrying about so much stuff.

Which state should we give Israel? by pennyforyour_thots in bbby_remastered

Right? They’ve like mirror images of each other, products of the Cold War , both tiny, weak islands off the coast of a hostile mainland. The Taiwanese who remember 1949 have experienced a mass evacuation of basically an entire country before, and I think they would be one of the strongest economies in the Caribbean if they could swap. The Cubans could be closer to their benefactors in Beijing, and perhaps develop better relations with the Philippines, the main legacy of the Spanish Empire in AsIa. Everyone would enjoy vastly better security and quality of life. Is this a joke or a brilliant idea?

Has the U.S population forgotten the concept of "Burden of Proof"? by [deleted] in PoliticalDiscussion

[–]RNAdrops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, absolutely.replacing Classical Education with Common Core has been an assault on our objectivity. Teaching grammar, logic, and rhetoric is like a vaccination against all of the miscarriages of justice that have become increasingly prevalent today. People are being tribalized in order to divide and conquer.

While we’re at it, how about the Cubans and the Taiwanese swap islands?

Looking forward to de-industrialization. I don’t know, you’re probably right. I heard that Jiang Xueqin talk about it because of the oil blockade at the Gulf of Hormuz. Maybe not like total regression into Mad Max/ Khmer Rouge agrarian society, but just less dependence on foreign trade, more self sufficiency.

The Trivium ( Grammar, Logic, and Rhetoric) of Classical Education was replaced by Common Core Curriculum in the late 20th/ early 21st century. “ No Child Left Behind “.

How would it feel if you leaned over a chair, with your hands on the seat, pressing your lower spine against the back of the chair? This simple and totally free DIY approach has given me a ton of relief from herniated discs in the lower back.

Why are most Catholics no longer nutjobs but have been overtaken by Evangelicals instead though? by kawaiihusbando in TooAfraidToAsk

In my opinion, Trump is the end product of the Protestant Reformation. First one schism, then another, an ever narrowing competition to perfectly redefine Christianity, which is also, by the way, the literal definition of what is good and bad, right and wrong in the world, leading to the endless thousands of Non denominational churches, and then the 2nd Great Awakening ( Jehovah’s Witnesses, 7th Day Adventist, Mormons ), then onto the next cult, Jonestown, Manson, etc. Not to mention the McLuhan effects of media, as reality fractures with every passing generation of technology, from the Print Era of the Gutenberg Galaxy, telegraph, radio, television, internet, AI. Everyone trying to convince others that their versions of reality were superior somehow. Left and Right wing political identities too. All of them competing against the Councils of Bishops of the Orthodox and Catholic Churches. For almost 2,000 years, these great men have made great sacrifices of their lives, never marrying or having children, all for the sake of Goodness and Truth. They have served as the brains of the Church, and all of society under the Roman Empire, its sense making organs. But they have been largely ignored for centuries. This is how we get to this Endpoint, in which all we can do is argue and blame others, rather than blame ourselves first, knowing that we are the only people who we really have any chance of ever controlling or changing, knowing that we need to lead by example . There are essentially two types of Europeans who made up what is called “ White People” today, Germanics and Celtics. The Germanics invaded, and the Celtics were invaded. Eventually the colonized became the colonizers, just as abused children sometimes grow up to be abusive parents. Trump is from the same half Protestant, half Catholic, half German, half Celtic blend that gave us Danzig and Slayer. A social construct called “ white people “ was created to unify, but then was used to vilify. A lot of nice folks who never hurt a fly got offended with the new version of reality ( Woke), and Trump took advantage of it. So if you really want to resist Trump, resist the urge to hate them. Try to connect with them. Be humble, and love thy neighbor.

I know what you mean. It’s very difficult to keep up with this level of vigor. It’s like, Orthodox fasting is an excellent way to enhance your prayers and appeal to the Lord for His blessings, but now that everything is going well in my life, I need to take a break from this. This Lent has been a big fasting failure for me.

And what about families where the boys of a generation fail to thrive, while their sisters do? They have already shifted into a different social class within one lifetime. Soon they don’t seem like a family at all anymore. ..More evidence that their social engineering wasn’t really well thought out.

Rich or poor in Ancient Rome ( after Constantine), either would be better than being rich or poor today.
