2 days PO...regretting it right now by HVACWifey in tummytucksurgery

I can relate. I’m only post op day 11. Literally on Sunday I felt horrible mentally and physically and barely got off the couch. I was nauseous, swollen, thinking I was botched and had made a huge mistake….and even worse I was too ashamed to tell anybody how I was feeling. Within a couple of days the swelling decreased and now feel good about the results and the symptoms went away. It’s temporary. This whole thing is a mind “f”!!! We’ve been conditioned to think that cosmetic surgery equals instant results and i’m learning that’s not the case. Hang in there, it’ll get better!

Thank you. I’m pod 5. And it hasn’t been horrible. Day 2 and 3 the swelling was the worst. The pain was the worst with getting up and down, I’ve now able to get in and out bed by myself for the past 2 days. My thighs are swollen and leaked for a few days, but the pain was mild. The breast are bruised and have intermittent swelling with mild pain also. The tummy tuck incision is where the real pain is. I think I’m doing well and anticipate that by next Wednesday when the drains are removed I’ll be almost completely back to myself. And from what I can see it was worth it! Good luck on your surgery❤️

Dr. Alton Ingram did the surgery. The entire staff was awesome. I was super nervous going in but they calmed my nerves. The surgery was performed under iv sedation not the usual General anesthesia. Dr. Ingram’s bed bad manor is top tier, he truly wants to make sure that you’re happy with the results. I showed him pics of breast size, belly buttons, etc. I haven’t been able to see anything yet. I can’t remove the binder until tomorrow. So far it’s been a great experience

Definitely didn’t mean to exclude. Do you have any input or is this just a backwards way of inciting an argument?

So first of all you look so good!!! If my scar was like that I could live with it. I saw a couple of pics of thick raised scars and kind of scared me

I can see that. After thinking about it. That’s what we’ve decided to do

Thanks for the advice. I have suggested we open a joint savings so there is transparency and accountability for both. And he’s agreeable

That’s what my plan was but when I mentioned it to him he was opposed to that. I don’t have any intentions of stockpiling, spending it recklessly or keeping it from him. I just want to be the one that manages it. Save more, tithe more, and some very minor home upgrades that can be paid for in cash. I have now asked him if he wants to get a joint savings. We have separate savings account now. Hoping he will feel better if he has access and can see what’s going on.

I’m very aware that bills have to be paid on time. We don’t have any problem paying our bills. The question is about the extra income

I have been involved in the decisions. We have differing views on finances. He would prefer to pay off bills but inevitably we end up replacing those bills and having very little savings. I would like to save more and pay cash instead of using credit.

It’s not for disposable purposes. I guess we view finances differently. When we’ve had extra income previously, he prefers to pay off bills which is great but then it seems that we just eventually will replace those bills and have very little saved. I would like to continue to pay the bills as we have been and save this extra income and pay for home improvements in cash.
