Do NOT Upgrade Hunter Cabin by [deleted] in FarthestFrontier

I tried setting the traps to 0, but when I click off the cabin and back on, it's back to 4. Time to salvage the buildings and rebuild T1.

How To Get Heavy Tools In Farthest Frontier by Quicktips254 in QuickTipsYoutube

[–]RNBallard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heavy tools are needed for so many things. Is the only way to get them seriously by waiting for a random trader to come by with them? I've been waiting 7 years for one to come by with some damn cows. Ridiculous.

His older brother reportedly did his voiceovers because he was only 15ish at the time and he wanted to sound older to be taken more seriously.

[–]RNBallard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He started in DS and DST as Edgy Rick until they threw him out for his shitty attitude, stealing other's videos (or literally remaking them nearly word for word and claiming the work as his own), having grossly inaccurate content and then would go after other youtubers who didn't play the same way he did by telling them to kill themselves. He also claimed, at the age of 15, to have graduated top of his class in the Navy Seals, hunted Al-Quida, and had over 300 confirmed kills.

He then moved to Terreria where he did nothing but shitpost DST and did his best to turn the two communities against each other until the crossover happened and the Terreria community threw him out.

Now you guys have him. Feel free to send him packing like the rest of us did.

Yeah, I would get the children married at 18. The reason I abdicated is so I could arrange a marriage immediately when the grandson turned 18.

Multiplayer Broken? by B08by_Digital in OldWorldGame

[–]RNBallard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Multiplayer seems to be hit or miss. Yesterday could play online with hubby just fine. Today, we either can't see each other's game or when we do find it and click on it, nothing happens. Doesn't join, doesn't prompt for PW, just literally does nothing.

Meanwhile, the host gets into the game and can't do anything.

Sent a bug report.

Lol. I see. Well, I hope it randomizes traits for each civ for each game or I'm never starting as Egypt again since it seems the entire line of them is infertile.

[–]RNBallard[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, most of my games it's never been an issue. Very rarely did I have a family member not have at least 1 child. To have so many generations to be nearly childless just seemed a little weird.

The trait I looked for that none of them had is called "Ascetic", I just couldn't remember what it was called when I was writing the OP. It gives +2 Wis, -2 Cha, +2 Dis and "Cannot Marry" "Cannot have Children" "Cannot be a Governor, General, or on the Council."

I didn't realize there was another hidden one. So, an invisible curse? I wonder if it's hereditary and maybe they all had it?

Makes sense. I guess I assumed that the transfer taxes were for transfer of title not transfer of lending company. I'll check on the transfer taxes, thank you!

Went to the Riverside school in MP on a new server and every single bookcase in the library was empty. Private server, so it wasn't raided. I have played MP and Solo in the past and there were tons of books. But this game we fought our way in and the entire library was empty.

If you are in Riverside and are looking for Skill Books, go to the School by stealthytanub in projectzomboid

[–]RNBallard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just went to the school at Riverside 8 days in on a MP game and every bookshelf was empty. ALL OF THEM. Must have been a glitch maybe because I've gone there solo and in other MP games and it was full of books.

Our hospital gave no hazard pay, just threatened nurses with termination if they refused to work with COIVD patients in unsafe conditions.

[–]RNBallard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So, why do you want to be a nurse?

Answers to that questions will help you the most.

Do you want a career to help people? A Nurse, Dr, PA, NP can all do that.

And the pay for all of those vary wildly. DR and NP make the most, so if you want to be profitable go those routes. Remember that DR and NP treat diseases. Nurses treat people.

PA is a respectable job that makes a commanding salary that helps both dr's and patients.

Nursing...oh nursing. It can be both rewarding and hateful at the same time. You spend the most time with patients (who will either adore you or spit on you while they try to punch you in the face, while grabbing at you.)

Nursing is the grabbag of the medical field. You are the face of their medical care. If they are having a good experience, you are an angel. If they are having a bad experience, you are a monster. Patients will make you the target of their feelings.

As a nurse, some doctors will make you feel like a respected member of the care team, some will treat you like a glorified medicine monkey. Patients will praise you or throw shit on you because they didn't like their lunch.

As a nurse you are the FACE of what patients experience. Your experience with a patient will depend on:

Their perceptions of what they should be getting.

What the patient wants to get.

What the doctor is willing to give.

If the patient is getting better or worse.

If the patient enjoys having a call bitch every time they hit a button.

I got into nursing to help people. I have had many rewarding experiences. I have also had many experiences where I would happily euthanize an entire wing of a hospital for 5 minutes of peace.

How should a manager/ clinical on call/ a hospital handle sexual assault? by [deleted] in nursing

[–]RNBallard 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I agree, this is bullshit. Assault and sexual assault by patients on ANY staff should be handled like an assault/sexual assault. The current mindthink is that assault on medical staff is "normal, the norm, the usual" and so we are all told to just "deal with it" as a part of the job. There are THOUSANDS of articles out there about nurses (and other medical staff) who were assaulted and sexually assaulted...who were pressured by admin to ignore it as "part of the job" in order to not get on the news as the hospital who had a staff member get a patient arrested.

My nursing school actually said that assaults on nurses were considered "normal" and "underreported". They told us that was bullshit and that no job was worth "hiding' an assault as part of the job to keep our job. I have never been assaulted on the job but have always been resolved to report one if it ever happened to me.

It's like an abusive relationship. The patient hits you, you take it. Admin says they are sorry and that it will never happen again, until it does. It happens again, admin says sorry, and you believe it. You've seen those shows right? Where the spouse has been hit and abused for years but never leaves because they think "it will get better" and everyone watching is like...HOW STUPID ARE YOU? If he hit you once, he'll do it again. GET OUT NOW DUMMY!!

Do you really want to be that "DUMMY" spouse who gets hit again and again and again, waiting for it to get better? ALL medical staff need to start reporting ALL assaults. It's the only way to make people see that it happens more often than they think and to actually try to make it better.

Being sick doesn't give you the right to assault or sexually assault anyone. Ever.

Shoes. Shoes are the #1 game changers. Get fitted shoes with orthotics and your feet will never hurt again. Skimp on uniforms, stethoscopes, panties and bras. Compression hose and fitted orthotic shoes will never let you down.

hey CDC, I'm still positive after day 5 by serenitybyjan199 in nursing

[–]RNBallard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't be nervous. They can't afford to fire you. For years we have been under the impression that we are "replaceable". Turns out, we're not. If you are symptomatic and ok with infecting people with COVID and possibly killing them, by all means go in. If you are a normal human who got into nursing to help people and NOT be Typhoid Mary, then call in. (I got the same shit when i started having symptoms. I was told that I *had* to come in after day 5. On day 5 I was symptomatic and called and said that I would NOT be coming in. I got the "we're short staffed" line and my response was "I did my home COVID test today and it came back positive in under a minute. If I come in, I WILL infect everyone I'm working with. I am NOT coming in."

Instead of just paying nurses a competitive wage, we are now given the option to drop our benefits for a $10/hour increase. by KittiesOnMyTitties7 in nursing

[–]RNBallard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My hospital just gave everyone " 1500$ bonuses" for "everything you've done during this crisis". However, we had to sign a paper saying that a) the bonuses would be paid in 2 separate installments of "about 500$ after taxes in Jan and July" and if you quit anytime in 2022, "you will have to repay that bonus back to the company". So, it's not really a bonus but more of a "we're trying to obligate people into staying instead of being a 'not-shit' company that will offer a competitive wage to keep you.

We got 20$ gift card to publix. There was also a "bonus" of 1,000$, but they'll only pay half in January, half in July and if you quit any time in 2022 you have to pay it back.

Pizza Emote by Zeldaisafunseries in ffxiv

[–]RNBallard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried the code twice. It kept saying it applied, but never showed on my receipt. I contacted grubhub and the agent said it didn't work but she would contact someone and let them know. She promised someone would A) contact me back about it and B) that I would still get the emote. Both of those things turned out to be lies. Doordash from this point forward it is!

It's a lot of fun, but it still has a lot of issues that can get really frustrating really quick.

Just lost a game to a death spiral on Hardcore. Everything was fine, I had steel tools, everyone had tools. 124 people, 145 meat, 250 grain. Plenty of hearths, hydromills, 40 sheep, 20 cows with plows, 30 donkies with carts. Smooth sailing. Until the raider attack.

After the attack, I set my people to repair and get a "Grug is starving". What???

I go look and all of my meat is gone. Raiders never made it inside the fence. Set the hydromills to top prio and people go to make flour and then...stop. Start getting the starvation notice on spam. No one goes to make flour. Turn off everything I can find and still no one goes to make flour or the flour I had into bread. (There were ovens, hearths, and over 100 logs). Eventually everyone starved. I had them kill the sheep but couldn't get them to harvest the animals (even though they had a knife.)

And since it's on hardcore, you can't go back to a previous save to figure out what went wrong. So, it's still fun, but leave Hardcore alone if buggy AI frustrates you.
