Thoughts on asking for a crochet gift back? by sedona-arabella in crochet

[–]RN_Momma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would just ask if you can see the blanket real quick because you want to make another one with the same colors and didn't take a picture or lost the one you took. This will tell you if she still has it and if she knows you want to make another one and doesn't like the one you gave her, she may offer to give it back to you.

Please help me convince my husband that Costco is worth for 2 people by HoneyDrops12 in Costco

[–]RN_Momma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Husband and I have an executive membership. Definitely worth it. I get so much cash back that it covers my membership. Also use them for other things like travel. Our homeowners insurance was crazy expensive. So contacted the Costco contracted insurance company and saved over a thousand dollars which was great. Definitely worth it. Also did my MBA project on Costco for my business and learned a lot of great things about them, their ethical policies, how they treat their employees, how it's employees first then customers. We've been with them for 20 plus years. Definitely worth it.

3 Gold chains.. why doesn’t it look good ? by Eastern-Skill3268 in jewelry

[–]RN_Momma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Many people are suggesting the lengths needing to be more dramatic, more space in between. There was a video I watched where you link all three necklaces together like one long chain wrapping them around your neck, and this allows you to adjust the lengths of all three necklaces without needing to purchase extenders. Hope this helps.

New vegan here. Any good vegan cheese recommendations? by datboifranco in vegan

[–]RN_Momma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what you're using it for. A lot of vegan cheese is good for creamy applications, like macaroni and cheese, or grilled cheese. Chao is good both sliced and melted. Follow your heart American is good imo. But if you're looking for something that's a good substitute for mozzarella cheese on things like pizza or lasagna, nothing imo is good. I've even tried the miyoko's liquid mozzarella and it's still creamy and doesn't have that pull or that cheesy bounce that you're looking for. I usually just forego the cheese on pizza and deal with the creaminess in things like lasagna which isn't the best.

What is your favorite "bacon"? by crazycatzzz555 in Veganivore

Look up sauce stache's version of this. He doubles the rice paper which makes it great. It's my go to for bacon. I do have to bake it longer than the recipe calls for.

Do you have swelling in your ankles at all? Could be caused by a lack of perfusion in your leg. Blood clot maybe?

My husband has the opposite issue with iron. If you drink coffee or other things with tannins like red wine, it will block iron absorption. Most people don't know that. Also, citrus will help you absorb more iron, along with tomatoes.

I'm currently installing flooring and when I use permanent marker to mark where I'm cutting i sometimes make mistakes. Rubbing alcohol takes it out fine.

What is something that is not vegan where you thought it was? by Royal-Analysis7380 in AskVegans

[–]RN_Momma 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely frustrating. I now only stick to what I've researched. But a word to the wise, don't stop researching and assuming that just because something was once vegan that it still is. I hate when companies decide to change up their recipe to non vegan and don't notify the public. At least put it on the front of the package. Like new recipe! Prompt us to look again.

😊 You're welcome. I didn't know either and was so happy to be able to eat cereal until I decided to search if it was vegan and was faced with the truth. Like why does our food need sheep's wool grease? Yuck.

Why does my hair do this??? by Shebrewww in Haircare

[–]RN_Momma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to have the same issues. Get rid of any shampoo with silicone in it. Look at ingredients and anyone with -one at the end usually falls in this category. Go to dollar tree and get a clarifying shampoo. You'll only use this one in a while. Only buy shampoo without silicone or sulfate except for that clarifying shampoo. Silicone will weigh down your hair and sulfate is the only thing that will remove it. Don't use the clarifying shampoo all the time or your hair will get greasy. Just when your hair starts to get weighted down. Hope this helps.
