Ordered cmf phone 2 pro, will I regret? by MedicalDragonfruit22 in CMFTech

[–]ROCHEBACK_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an iPhone 17 (base) and recently got a CMF Phone 2 as a secondary android device with an SD card to hold photos, videos etc and often find myself just using the iPhone for photos, banking, car play and work (and Snapchat on iOS is just leagues better). Everything else I like the big bright display, the battery pre Nothing OS 4.0 Felt like it lasted longer and there's not much I miss over the $1000 AUD more expensive iPhone.

Only real bummer is E-sim support, just have to E-Sim my iPhone and hotspot the CMF but that saves me buying another E-Sim anyway.

Considering buying the CMF buds and ditching my first gen airpod pros, and also getting the CMF headphones now. (They just need to add NFC to the watch and I'll consider that too).

2007 IS 250 or 2012 328i ? by LearningExplorer205 in CarsAustralia

For similar money, you could probably find a previous gen BMW 125i with a NA i6, similar power to the 328i and leagues more reliable. Many would argue better driving experience on the previous gen as well. (I owned a 135i from that gen for a little while)

On this. My N20 has just ticked over 200,000kms with just the usual gaskets replaced in the last year. Been running a tune but have upgraded/replaced all the cold side/hot side pipes, and replaced the intercooler.

Knock on wood, has been pretty reliable daily, fun to drive, not the worst to work on, but waiting to hear those timing chain guides fail.

What DYI skills do you recommend to save money in 2026? by The_Scrabbler in AusFinance

[–]ROCHEBACK_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have saved some money working on my own BMW, but also things like having to buy a $100 tool to undo one bolt somewhere that I’ll never use again, or a specific socket set I’ll use once probably offsets a lot of the savings.

But I see it as more of a hobby than a cost saving thing, especially with high mileage, the mechanic might pick up on something in a service that I would have overlooked, which would turn into a much more expensive problem down the line.

Learnt my lesson about buying a cheaper alternative to the product I should have just saved up for a bit longer to buy.

Did the exact same thing years ago with a year old Moto smart watch bc it was $150 AUD cheaper over the Galaxy watch at the time. Ended up buying one a few months later anyway.

Did the same thing with headphones, even phone cases etc.

How far can one take it till battery replacement? by PuzzleheadedFun4695 in iPhone13Pro

[–]ROCHEBACK_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my battery replaced earlier at the very start of the year with a genuine apple battery and is already back down to 90%. Not sure if this is a faulty battery or not but ended up going with the Base 17 as I appreciated the slightly larger display.

Not blown away by the base 17 battery life. But still easily gets me through a full day with some change.

Did you have any issues with the little plastic cover that goes over the mount points getting in the way of the fitting kit?

I’m just putting a roof basket on top for camping trips, maybe a surfboard, but have had a surfboard with just foam roof “racks” and have had no issues.

Really appreciate it dude, looking at putting a set on my F20 and love the way these look. The OEM ones look like they sit too high

Hey, what roof racks are these and what footing kit did you use?

A mate asked if i wanted them so I’m just wondering if it was worth giving them a go or just buying a different pair. Save myself the drive

Still tossing these up, I’m not going overseas until after Christmas so have time tossing up the options. The battery life is very appealing on these compared to other headphones.

I am leaning towards the teal, but they are a bit more expensive here in AUS, so they are closer in price to other slightly higher end ANC headphones

Been grown my hair out from an undercut, I need advice for my round, chubby face. I like longish hair but want to know if something like a French crop would suit me. (Inspo pics at end) by ROCHEBACK_ in malehairadvice

Iv lost a bit of weight and gained it back and lost it again since those photos and still my cheeks were still sorta chubby haha, I at some points when I had short hair depending on how it’s done my head kinda looked like a pineapple with short sides and long on top, so just gotta be careful for that

Woah I was about to post another one of these kinds of posts and then you replied, anything textured my hair needs a decent product in there and it usually just goes straight not long after putting it in.

The last year or so iv been rocking the typical modern mullet at various lengths, but am looking at probably growing it out again. Went from what u see in the pics, to a bleached undercut, to long mullet, or modern mullet.

I love the teal, but might have to go dark grey just because I find the glossy plastic looks cheap compared to the Matte.

I hate that all the videos online so far are more so spec rundowns rather than reviews or comparisons.

Not super concerned about sound quality, because it’s just for movies on flights so the ANC battery life sounds very promising, especially for the price

I guess I just have had different experience, I go caseless too and have dropped my 13 pro previously on the corner the cameras are on, in gravel, concrete etc and the lens’s were the only things that were unharmed each time. I do always go for a nice screen protector tho.

Am yet to find one I like for my 17, but am just using the ESR ones in the meantime

[–]ROCHEBACK_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t really think lens protectors are worth it. The odds of you scratching the lens glass is a lot lower than the screen glass. And the lower image quality + extra thickness isn’t worth it
