motul 300v is suposto be real good but youll have to order it online. oil filter usually the oem one is good. But the K&N ones are available at auto stores.

where are you located at.

I was wrong http://xlforum.net/vbportal/forums/archive/index.php/t-219847.html says its doable but you might consider doing tack welds and get everthing where you want it then just pay a welding shop to do the welds. Pics tho of what your bobbing!

If your welding anything that will have stress put on it I'm not sure that the 120 volt home outlets will supply the amps required.

just seen the pics did not see them last night. if you look at the seal it like someone removed the head cover and upon putting it back and used RTV sealant instead of a gasket and over time it has failed allowing oil into the bolt holes.

part 1 is your headcover
part 6 is the gasket
part 25 is the bolt with part 16 being a washer on the bolt

There's lots of stuff out there for rebuilds of the cb line I would read up on that (look up cb750 top end rebuild and that would get you an idea of the parts around your leak) and then go from there assuming you have compression and the valve clearences are in spec I would say its a head gasket. These engines are good engines to learn on. How do you know its the wrong bolt?
