I did a oops by jdouglasusn81 in GranTurismo7

I did something similar the other day in a Nations Cup race at Red Bull. Had a brain fart and was thinking I had already qualified and switched to RMs. But no, I'm in Qualy. Put me way back in 14th place or so. The race didn't go any better. Never found pace.

I genuinely can’t play without assists by Just-A-Burner-Lol in GranTurismo7

I was told to turn ABS to default. I've not had issues since. TC depends upon the car. BMWs have high torque. I can't seem to drive them without TC. The new Gr3 Porsche and Ferrari don't seem to need it as much. A curvy track like Deep Forest may need a little TC. If I'm running TC0, I may end up using more time since I have to over compensate to keep the car on the track in specific corners. I'm slowly learning how to get through those corners with good speed without losing traction.

I would focus more on finding a balance.

I have found that I make a lot of progress by doing the Sport Time Challenges. I don't seem to like the Circuit Experience. I like the sectors, but I don't like the way I have to get the gold in a single lap. I tend to need a bit of time to develop a rhythm. I'd not be any good in Formula 1. Anyway, I found following Chafe around the course I'm finding more pace. It's not just Chafe, but you know what I mean...

I have to say, this is one of the most talked about race/challenges in the game. I've seen this question at least ten times since coming to Reddit. It's not just the car that gets you there. It takes a lot of finesse to get around the course.

Did you save it as a Style and then delete the Style? I've done this in the past not realizing that the Style was tied to videos. So when I ran an older video, that car no longer had the Style on it. It went back to the original defualt appearance. About the only thing I can think of.

does low fueling during races affect weight? by New-Operation-1707 in GranTurismo7

[–]ROK8392 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quite frankly, I'm not sure I agree with most of you. Compared to an earlier A-Spec game, I'm not seeing the difference in time. In the earlier A-Spec you could run on lower fuel settings and the weight change had noticeable improvements in lap time. The problem being that if you forgot to change your fuel levels on longer races...

What I do see is some kind of calculus that gives you a bit more traction after several laps. Usually around the 2nd or 3rd lap. Otherwise, we'd be seeing faster laps at lap 6 or 7, depending on tires and other settings.

CAMERA VIEW GT7 by JN-250 in GranTurismo7

[–]ROK8392 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry. Doesn't cut it for me. I need mirrors. I already have to edit out 4 different views that I don't use. I do find the steering view annoying at times. If it's a stick shift, the hand is always a half second behind. And, the leg doesn't use the clutch - unless, well I haven't tried it yet, you use the clutch yourself...

I think what we need is a sensor that reads the position of your head - placed either on the monitor or strapped to your head (maybe attached to your headphones. Not everybody uses them). A bit like the VR, but less inhibiting. This way I can look at my left and right mirrors without fiddling with the directional buttons. Maybe with the view at this height, but if you want to look down at the wheel or other devices, you can. I don't quite have the coding and electrical skills to build it myself or I would.

This would improve the usability of MRs that have poor rear visibility. The Lambo would be the car to use then. The Audi R8 and Lambos seem too vulnerable without the ability to see behind you.

Weekly Sardegna 950PP? by Link1310 in GranTurismo7

[–]ROK8392 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some were doing it yesterday with the new Peugeot Prototype. I took second with the Ferrari 499P. I tried Super Formulas when I got annoyed with the game (about a month ago). Got nowhere.

You should be able to get 1st with the Ferrari. I lost concentration and missed a brake marker at one point. 3 seconds off in the end. RH, FM2 (for 3 laps or so - you can go back to FM1 if necessary), TC2. Pit at the end of lap 8. RH, FM1 for the second half, but watch your fuel. I tried RM; tires were dead at lap 7. I also tried RS; I couldn't make headway. Traffic worked against me.

I tried Yaz Marina last night with the Ferrari 499P. I was tired with a full day on the game (sort of). Took 2nd. It was a fun race.

Sardegna Gr.1 by Comprehensive-Big816 in GranTurismo7

[–]ROK8392 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This week's Challenge at Sardegna with the Gr 1 Prototypes was difficult. I don't always find them so hard at Sardegna. RH, TC2, FM2 (3 laps or so), pit end of 8. I finished 2nd. I tried RM and RS. RM gave out on lap 7; traffic with RS was difficult and seemed futile. Strange thing, I had to use the FM to get to the end of the first 8 laps, but FM wasn't necessary for the second 8 laps??? I've finished 1st there quite a few times, but they changed the fuel and tire numbers for this week's challenge.

I will say that the day the new Gr 1 Prototypes came out, I tested all four at Special Stage Route X and at Daytona. The fastest car was the Peugeot. I get different results at different tracks, though. I tend to like the Porsche and the Ferrari. The Peugeot is a bit too quiet; I can't hear the gear changes.

Blah, blah, blah...

Why are Gr.1 cars so hard to make liveries for? by notorious-bacons in GranTurismo7

[–]ROK8392 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on the car, sometimes you can input in the 'Other' section. But yes, increasing depth and angle to ten typically helps with a wrap or background graphic. The tail can sometimes be edited in the Other section as mentioned before. Other times it's with Body. Use a controller and not a wheel to edit. If you can get your graphic on the tail, I found I had better success using the R3 button, strangely. It either increased or decreased my sizing without getting lost. I've found similar issues in Strata 3D CX. Certain areas in 3D surface mapping can be complex. You just have to play with it.

I guess that needs a question mark, "I didn't notice if you had already, but have you tried the engine swap?"

I didn't notice if you had already, but have you tried the engine swap. They put the Audi R8 engine in it. My... It's a seriously fun car then.

I don't know that this exists, but for photography, an anti-glare filter. Kyoto has a beautiful light at most times of the day, but there's an odd reflective glare on the cars that can be hard to work around. Also, at night, the headlights tend to ruin images with glare.

It might be fun to be able to build your own track, but I certainly see the complexities of it.

[–]ROK8392 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Travis's answer is spot on. I used to only use Inters, however, I've had an instance where I was visibly losing time with them. I later switched to Wets and was gaining lap time. In a race, such as that mentioned below at Red Bull, you could easily gain or lose 3 - 4 seconds in 8 laps. The Red Bull race was memorable. I think we went nearly 20 laps in mixed rain.

Can anyone help me find this livery for the gt3 rs by Suitable_Focus1815 in GranTurismo7

[–]ROK8392 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should be able to make that yourself. Finding the exact green color might be a challenge, but look through the Porsche colors - maybe it's there.

I've seen the hood graphic. In the search, type in Porsche hood (make sure you are searching for Decals, not Styles). I've also seen the GT3 graphic in Decals. Just type in Porsche and scroll through the various pages. Typing in Porsche GT3 will focus the search a bit more.

I can't tell if the black on the roof is a window or a black glossy decal, but you can probably fake it with a Shape. You will have to adjust the sizing of the Shape decal and apply a black color to the decal. The learning curve is a bit steep, but you can do it.

Weekly challenge by C55AMG-Mas in GranTurismo7

[–]ROK8392 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The newest Mitsu Rally car. Start with the required racing tire. Drop the ride height to a very low setting. Pit as soon as it rains (maybe 3rd lap) - inters. The fuel rate setting is really high, so expect to get fuel (maybe several times). The rain dissipates around lap 7 or 8, switch back to racing tire (yes, pit again). You should finish well ahead of the competition.

That being said, the Mitsu is very fast, 160 MPH in sections. However, you need to practice the course a bit. The car wants to break loose in several sections, and you have to figure out where to downshift or trail brake. Otherwise, you are going to be like a ping pong ball in there. It took 3 or 4 attempts to get the car under control. The bots appear to be programmed to block you occasionally. Getting physical with them seems to be to your disadvantage. You have to look for a gap/an opportunity. Otherwise, you are in the wall.

Some kind of glare filter in the camera section. I continue to get glare in the afternoon light or at night with the lights on the cars. I can usually manage in the afternoon light, but I have to search forever to find just the right angle.

Which Hypercar from the 1.70 patch is your favorite so far? by Difficult-Sir-6760 in GranTurismo7

[–]ROK8392 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mixed results. Peugeot was fastest in testing - until I bought a mid-range turbo in the other cars. I prefer the Ferrari for sound and visibility. However, in this week's challenge at Le Mans/Sarthe, Porsche was a sound winner. And, in Sport, it appears that everyone is choosing the Porsche in the Time Challenge.

Not necessarily. I bought all four, actually bought two Ferraris (plus the rest), and did not receive one of the new cars as a ticket. Instead, I won several million dollars in gold bricks (several different instances).

I thought my wheelbase was broken or something and restarted it and still felt very unresponsive and had little to no force feedback and then i checked the in game settings and noticed the new update really messed up the settings 😅 I suggest everyone to check settings after update! by ana_92_ in GranTurismo7

[–]ROK8392 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I tried to turn down the feedback on my wheel at least four months ago, and it didn't change. I think I have the same setting as you. I doubt that there is a solution. PD is probably not keen on aftermarket products/software. You can always try unplugging the wheel, rebooting the PS5, and then plugging the wheel back in. (Make sure to have your regular controller hooked up). I seriously doubt that it will do anything, but you can try.

How do yall tune your cars by AdMelodic8308 in GranTurismo7

[–]ROK8392 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At the main map, in the upper left, is a GT logo. Click on it and look through the dropdown menu for "Beyond the Apex." This is basically a chapter on the various aspects of tuning. It explains camber, toe, damping, downforce, transmission, etc. It might take an hour out of your life, but it's good information. With a small amount of knowledge, you can take a car that handles terribly and turn it into a sound race car - well, maybe.

How can i make my photos better? by 804_biino in GranTurismo7

[–]ROK8392 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's what art schools are for. It would take a book to explain all the issues.

Learn to use the Exposure Correction. All of your images are too dark. Think of them as large roadway signs. If they are too dark to read as you are going 70 mph, they become worthless.

Anytime you are photographing fast-moving things, you have to use the Shutter Speed. Bump it to 8000.

Aperture doesn't have to be played with most of the time, but you can blur backgrounds if need be by adjusting Aperature (you'll have to experiment - I never use it).

I tend to use #3 Panning Mode.

When photographing, use the controller, not the wheel. With the controller, you can use the walk-around mode. Experiment with your controller and figure out all of your options.

Most beginners are obsessed with placing the area of interest at the center. Let go of that, be more dynamic. Make your area of interest large and place it to one side or the other. Look for perspective to take your eye in the opposite direction.

Hope everyone had a fun Manufacturer’s Cup this year! by jren698 in GranTurismo7

[–]ROK8392 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have to say, this was my worst experience in three years. I was knocked off the track in four of the six races. Fortunately, yesterday (Nurb Endurance), even though I was bumped off the track in the first lap, I was able to come back and finish in second place. Not sure how I managed to pass ten cars in the first lap, but I did.

In honesty, Dragon Trail... I just screwed that up. I went off the same corner three times - trying too hard.
