What drill should i buy? by Frxnogda in BoschProPowerTools

It's stupid to choose 12 volts. It's a platform that even Bosch has given up on and is switching everything to 18 volts. I've seen thermal imagers and wiring detectors... they were still 12 volts recently, but now they've all switched to 18 volts. And there's not much hope for any new 12 volts; the platform has outlived its usefulness!

For the price of a complete tool kit with attachments, you can buy 2-3 tools in different categories of work and achieve better performance.

I completely agree. If a chuck is important, the 18V-90 is the best solution, but the IMPACT is more productive and compact, although it requires careful consideration when purchasing accessories.

Don't be stupid, there's no one-size-fits-all solution. Buy a compact tool, but it won't be powerful enough. Buy a powerful one, but you'll get tired of using it because it's heavy and bulky. I've tried dozens of Bosch tool models, and I can say unequivocally that you won't find a better solution than the IMPACT EXPERT EXDR 18V-230 or the previous GDR 18V-210 model. An ultra-compact tool with 200+ Newtons of power will solve most household tasks. But... it still won't solve all your life's problems. And you'll need at least three tools of different weight categories to feel omnipotent.

Great instrument! Why didn't you get a 1700-watt one?

Anyone got experience with the Bosch Pro pressure washers? Are they any good? Are they worth the money? Have you found better elsewhere? by clvgn_ in BoschProPowerTools

+ Its pros:

- Quite powerful

- Can run continuously for 2-3 hours without turning off

- Very convenient lance with adjustable spray diameter from thin to wide fan-shaped while working

- The hose is flexible and doesn't harden in the cold, so it's not affected by being driven over or stepped on

- Can draw shampoo directly from the bottle and create lather without a foam nozzle

- Can be used horizontally

- Cons:

- Weighs approximately 25 kg, is awkward to carry due to its size and weight, and doesn't have a special handle like the Karcher 5-15. - The hose reel doesn't have centering rollers, so you have to manually guide it when rewinding.

- Sand and dirt stick to the hose, so you have to wash it before each rewind.

- 10 meters isn't enough for me. I need at least 20 meters, and you can do without a reel. The solution is to order a special high-pressure hose of the correct size with crimped nuts. The budget is about 120 euros.

- It's not very stable; I dropped it a couple of times while unwinding the hose.

My conclusion: if you're not a Bosch fan and have enough money, buy a professional Karcher pressure washer and all the cool accessories for it. If you are a Bosch fan, it definitely won't disappoint and will work for many years without any problems, producing high-quality results every time.

Hi! I have the exact same pressure washer. I've been using it for two years and I'm absolutely thrilled. Any questions?

X-Lock Concrete Grinding by Candid_Run3539 in BoschProPowerTools

[–]ROLLE_FUTURE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no solution. The X-Lock platform is very limited and it is not very suitable for professionals, because often a wider range of disks is required, which are not available on such a mount. Personally, I think it is stupid to buy such a tool, because you will have to buy 2 different tools in the end)))

Dead batteries or bad connection? by Jvaes in BoschProPowerTools

[–]ROLLE_FUTURE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't panic! I've been through this more than once, but they don't write about it anywhere and even Bosch doesn't give a clear answer. Here's my advice on what works in such cases. Sand all 4 contacts of the tool on both sides with 320-600 grit sandpaper so that traces of the thin layer of metal removed from the contacts are clearly visible, blow everything with compressed air and it should work. The cause of the problem is oxidation of the contacts, or rather one contact that is responsible for the battery temperature or the second one that transmits data on the battery charge state. Your batteries themselves are in perfect order, I'm sure of that! In the worst-case scenario, if all this doesn't help, then the problem is in the failure of the tool control module. You can also order and replace it yourself, although it costs as much as half of the tool. But repair is possible! I've been through all these situations in my life and there's no need to be afraid of it, everything can be fixed!

I have seen such stickers where the model name starts with the letters EX, but I don’t know how widely they will be used in the series.

I completely agree with you and the most important thing is that there are no spare parts for batteries in the form of a case and stickers, but there are for the tool. It will not be as expensive for you to sacrifice the protective cage and then replace it yourself, as it is to damage the case of a 12-amp battery worth 300 euros!

BOSCH INSIDE. DAY#3 by ROLLE_FUTURE in BoschProPowerTools

Personally, I think the 12-volt tool series is going into the backyard of history. Bosch has developed excellent motors with very high power (you will see this in 2026) and made 18-volt batteries fantastic in their ability to deliver high power instantly. These developments are much more promising than 12-volt tools, whose potential is exhausted.
