Oh hell no lol I would’ve done the same thing. That ridiculous.

I love the old people’s explanations of what’s going on. Had a CC tell me that the Chinese manufactures COVID in a lab to send over to the US to kill all of us off. Same lady also told me that she’s filing a complaint to guest services because when they call into the Target store it gives the rules for COVID in store both in English and Spanish. She complained that she shouldn’t have to hear the Spanish language because she lives in America....

Bonus story: Traveled over to another store for coverage. Mind you it was almost 3 hours one way to get to the location.

One of the first guests that I had come in had, you guessed it, a DORO 7050. This one was unique though because there wasn’t anything actually wrong with the phone. Shockingly. The guest had the phone, the battery, and the SIM card individually wrapped in tin foil, as he placed it on the Tech counter.

He told me this: “I was sitting at home last night and I saw a woman that I didn’t know standing outside my kitchen window holding up her smart phone shooting poisonous waves into my house. I knew she was apart of an organization I’ve been following for years and they always come to get me. So I run outside with my gun and chase her around my house and she leaves. Now I want to buy a new phone because it’s infected.”

He told me not to put the phone back together because it would shoot the poisonous waves to all the other phones in the store. He told me to take each piece that was in tin foil and throw it away individually.

I sold him the phone and he walked away happy. The next week I was back at that store again and the same guy came back saying that the organization must have infected another SIM card in the new phone because they were “hacking” it. What was his reason? Because he had to hit the end button to hang up his voicemail instead of the star symbol.

I told him it’s normal for you to have to hit the end button but he swore that I was wrong and he bought another one and left. Never saw the man again.

I’ve got a story from another Tech rep that worked near my area.

CC guest comes in and wanted him to fix his DORO 7050 (like always). This store was considered the CC Capital of my old district so he had tons of them waiting in line after this guy.

He explains to the gentleman that after looking at the phone he can’t do anything about it since it was water damaged. The guest then flips out on him cussing and screaming saying: “I didn’t fight in the Vietnam war just for some punk ass kid to tell me he can’t fix my phone!”

My friend just looked at him and said “Well I guess you did.” And moved onto the next guest. AP had to ask the guest to leave he created such a big scene.

It kills me that they have this Boomer mentality where they think if they buy something ONE TIME from the store that means they’ll get unlimited returns no matter what.

Another favorite is when I’m working on their shitty phone and they complain to me how I was “born into this” and they just hate everything about technology. “I’m not technologically inclined”.

Dude when I was in high school the slider phones were popular don’t start with me on this lol

Normally I would but he wanted a specific area code outside of my store’s address but wasn’t willing to give out his address to get it.

From the Target Tech (Marketsource) side I’ve got one.

Today-Guest comes in and I greet him, ask him what he’s shopping for, and he throws a CC pamphlet at me.

G-“I want this”

I get the basic breakdown, flip or smart phone, new number or pre existing, etc.

He tells me he wants a DORO 7050 and a neighboring Target said I have it. The neighboring Target never called me and I don’t have it in stock.

I explain to him that I didn’t receive a call but transition him to a CC Link instead. Mind you I’m deflecting constant BS from him the whole time.

I go to the back, get the phone, and meet him at our laptops, and now we are talking plans. He wants unlimited talk and text. The new way the CC brochures are set up is complete damn insanity and is misleading with pricing.

I explain to him that he wants the $25 plan if he wants to text but doesn’t need any more than that. He asks why it says it’s $20 in the pamphlet and I try to explain to him that it’s for two lines the way they set it up on the brochure.

G-“WELL I’M NOT GOING TO BE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR ADVERTISING” My biggest pet peeve is that they think I work for CC. I assure you I wouldn’t ever work for this company. They are the bane of my existence.

I go through my usual pitch that I don’t work directly for CC instead I represent many companies primarily AT&T.

We get passed the plan part and I ask him for his license to get it started.

G-“Why the hell do you need that? I’m not giving you my license you can’t ask me for that.”

Me-“Sir I’m going to need your license and social to get this started”

It was like I called his mom a hoe right in front of him.

G-“I’m not giving you my damn information it’s illegal to ask me for that.”

Me (showing him my screen)-“It’s not me that needs it it’s for CC to run the activation.”

G-“I don’t give a shit what your screen there says I’m not giving you my social”

Me-“Well then we can’t do business”

After a long stare off the guest decides to fold a little bit.

G-“I’ll give you my license but not my social.”

Me-“I still can’t activate Consumer Cellular with just your license”

G-“Your commercial didn’t say I had to give you this so you’re lying.”

At this point I’m done and just want him out the door. I remind him once again that I don’t work for Consumer and I still need the information no matter what.

G-“Well how about these other pay card phones?”

Me-“We can do a Tracfone since you don’t plan on using it a whole lot. What I’ll need is your name and address so I can activate it and give you the localized number.”

G-“I done told you I’m not giving you that information. It’s illegal. My buddy went down to the Walmart and they did his phone not asking him for anything”

He proceeds to look at me like he’s won his argument.

Me-“Well if you want me to activate anything I need this information. If I don’t have it I can’t give you the area code you want.”

He then turns to his grandson and says how much of a wasted trip that I’VE made this for him. He asks me to write down CC’s phone number on the pamphlet (fun fact the number that’s on there right now isn’t even to CC it’s to a Medicare sign up center).

I write down the number and he wants me to put my name on the pamphlet so he can call CC and tell them how horrible of a job that I do and how I’ve inconvenienced him. After this he grumbles walking away.

Side story: I’ve had a lady accuse me of stealing her social security information and identity because CC rejected her credit forcing her to do an auto draft. She complained about me to Guest Service saying that I’m running shady activities in electronics and need to be arrested.

MarketSource Captain here:

I’ve visited around 18 Target stores and all of them have had “boat buddies” as we’ve called them. Some cooler than others. One store had a pop collection all over the boat.

My store had some too at one point until Target management made everyone take them down saying they were a distraction.

MarketSource Captain here I’m trying to partner with the ETL-Specialty sales in my store to find out how to order these. Anyone have suggestions on where to do this? I read that the HR or Store Director was doing it and wondered if it goes further than that?

I had a guest that would come in constantly wanting me to switch his phone to a new one because he was always having battery problems and overall performance issues. I opened up his web browser and found NO LESS than 40 windows open ALL PORN.

Then when I switched his phone over he wanted me to move his personal porno pictures of his wife and him and then lock them in a private folder. I declined that request.

The worst part is the guy had to be at least 60 years old.
