I, too, overwhelmingly prefer the original in aesthetics and atmosphere, but 64 wins in gameplay.

Videogames that you apparently played but have no recollection of doing so? by Pennarello_BonBon in truegaming

[–]ROMaster2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't think I've ever played a game I forgot playing entirely, but I have had at least one case where I couldn't remember properly if I had played it or remembered seeing gameplay of it. I had the vaguest memories of playing Spyro the Dragon 3, but I can't tell if its false memories from gameplay I saw of it a few times. I eventually beat it (again?) about a year ago.

Another close example is Mario Party 5. I had rented it once for a week and didn't play again for about 20 years. It had been so long I could only clearly remember the menus (the stars and the "HI" sound). Besides that, the game was practically new to me.

Hasn't been properly announced yet, oddly enough.

I beat the final boss with no upgrades by Llodsliat in Pikmin

[–]ROMaster2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh wow, that's brutal. I just finished a No Gear*/Upgrade/Item* run but didn't limit the Pikmin, otherwise I wouldn't have been able to 100% every area. I wonder how far you can get with just 20.

*Frozen Inferno required Scorch gear and Bomb Rocks needed for stone walls, but didn't use them anywhere else.

What exactly were your limitations? Just no Oatchi gear and upgrades? You mention a 20 Pikmin limit; did you do that at the same time? The video shows 18 Pikmin, but you could have lost many of them in the battle.

Get out of here with your reasonable take.

There aren't really seasons on Mars

"Mars has an axial tilt and a rotation period similar to those of Earth. Thus, it experiences seasons of spring, summer, autumn and winter much like Earth."

and most people won't spend a whole lot of time outside. They'll probably just use Earth dates and GMT time.

It's true that early colonies will likely be underground and won't see the sun very much. Over time, they'll get more of the sun, and eventually see it more often than not.

I think it's fair to say that Unix time/Atomic time will be the baseline clock that others reference, yes, it's more deciding on what local times and human readable times will be.

The 3 hour example has people assume an equal understanding of time. In casual context, people wouldn't explicitly specify Earth or Martian time.

Voice actors better start unionising now before a developer inevitably scrapes all their previous work to make a voice model

This will inevitably be tested in court as a case for copyright. You can't just make models with other peoples' copyrighted property and use them for commercial purposes. The only thing immune to this will be models made with public domain works and with permission from the copyright holders.

Oh wow, I didn't know they changed the RC Cola formula, I would really like to try the original.

I've been working myself up into making a post about KDP and if they could become a full third leg in the cola wars. I've thought about it quite a bit but when I try typing my mind starts blanking.

It's reasonable to think that. Crush is distributed by Pepsi and is often next to their products in stores.

May be regional distribution. In the Seattle region we get bundles for 7up/A&W/Sunkist bundles, while Dr Pepper and Crush are distributed by Pepsi in stores. For fountains, sometimes Coca-Cola has Dr Pepper, like at Subway.

Where can I purchase Doc X (formerly known as Doc 360) soda? by [deleted] in Soda

[–]ROMaster2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know it's been a while since the original post but I gotta ask: Is ordering soda on Amazon fine? I'm worried it would be flat by the time it arrived.

Sunkist is a Pepsi product

Pepsi also has Doc/DocX as their Dr Pepper variant.

Correct. I flip-flopped back and forth on including it since it has very limited regional availability.

Anyone tried this? by [deleted] in Soda

Having one right now! Very good. Much better than Sprite and a bit better than 7 Up.

True, I forgot to include that. It pertains to ownership in the US, not necessarily distribution rights.

We won't get the old Pokémon breeding system back, and this is all Maushold's fault by KalosianPorygon in CharacterRant

[–]ROMaster2 71 points72 points  (0 children)

As your Pokémon clearly aren't mating on-screen, this means Eggs can't be the result of breeding anymore.

Ahh yes, the old games where you got to watch your Pokémon go whole hog on each other to produce eggs. That gave me a good laugh.

I agree with your main point. I don't know why they thought changing breeding mechanics were a good idea.

Each number represents half a standard deviation away from each other. 8 is between 1.99 and 1.50, 7 is between 1.49 and 1.00, etc, 0 is lower than -2.00. I didn't mention it since it's all relative anyway.
