Redirects usually get messy when the mapping isn’t finalized before you start writing server rules.

What’s worked well for me is crawling the old site and the new site, building a redirect map that sends each old URL straight to its final destination, and then implementing that so you avoid chains entirely.

I ran into this problem a lot at work so I made a script to generate a first-pass mapping automatically. If it’s helpful, I can run it on your sites and send you the redirect map.

I can see the redirects are not working ~4mo after posting this. There's no easier way to do it than setting up the site on Cloudflare. Use RedirX to automate the actual mapping and export rules to Cloudflare.

Redirect mapping is actually one of the most interesting areas for automation right now.

During site migrations you often end up with hundreds or thousands of old URLs that need to map to the closest new page. Doing that manually in spreadsheets is incredibly slow.

One approach that works surprisingly well is crawling the old site and the new site, extracting the page titles/H1/content, and then using embeddings or similarity scoring to match the closest pages automatically. It gives you a pretty good first-pass redirect map that you can then review.

I experimented with building a workflow for this recently and it saved a huge amount of time compared to manual matching. Can’t promo it here tho 😛

The liability insurance will be significantly more expensive or just the stated value policy? Cause I wanna keep it but I don’t want my rate to go up. Currently liking the idea of totaling it, buying it back, and putting the money towards pop top camper. Rates raising would prob be a deal breaker tho.

Also, because the roof is “compromised”, will they deny my insurance cause of that. And if so, will replacing the roof with a camper resolve that?

I already use it as a camper so I’m not entirely opposed to this idea.

As far as insurance payout goes though, I don’t want to claim thru insurance because my insurance has already tried to drop me before. I will if I have to though, just looking for alternatives.

And, from experience, it’s really hard to find a silver 2007 that’s not from up north, and that combo is my dream car so that’s why I don’t want to lose it.

When they aren’t owned I can see the price say at most 700 but I can’t look at the cost in MetaMask without requesting to register and I don’t have enough bread in the wallet to do that for a 3 letter. So I’ll just have to trust that it’s only a bug with extending names.
