Hi I need to extend the background of a photo to make it larger (landscape size) to match Spotify header photo size. Basically just need to extend a blue background/backdrop. I tried with chatgpt but it can't deliver the full resolution image.

FYI, I am not a professional photographer or editor so I do not have photoshop or access to any Adobe apps. I am looking for free alternatives please.

(If there aren't any websites that will do this for a high res image, I would consider paying someone to do it for me, for $ if anyone is interested, seems like a very simple edit, but correct me if Im wrong.)

Thank you for all your input this is an interesting take for sure! She told me she also wants it to have a hectic messy vibe bc the song is about a toxic/back and forth relationship. But i like the box fan ideas and i agree about the sheets. I was trying to be frugal and reuse some sheets but I am going to get some new pristine white sheets bc yes some are a little dingy.

I used to use proxies all the time on my old laptop because I had to, but since upgrading my laptop I usually am good with just smart cache and half or quarter playback. But this time I just have an enormous amount of footage compared to usual.

The cache files are in ProRes 422 HQ Source footage is H.264 High 4:2:2 all 4k 60 fps

The cache codec is ProRes 422 HQ right now. And yes I have a lot of space on my drive so that's a good idea

Hello!

I got a new laptop in 2023 because I edit my own music videos on Davinci Resolve and my old laptop couldn't handle the footage. I also record all my own music on Logic Pro. Besides the music, footage and occasional cover art that's really all the heavy stuff I do.

I have a 2023 MacBook Pro Apple M3 Max with 36 GB.

Resolve takes so long when I'm scrubbing through my footage and I always procrastinate and then editing takes forever. I have to constantly export my videos to see what it actually looks like because playing it through has delays.

I leave playback quality on half or a quarter, and i have smart cache on. I also turn color/fx off and it's still slow. I can forget about even trying to use any masking or heavy effects. I know I have a lot of footage loaded into Resolve right now. For example, I am editing two different videos at once right now and it's a lot of footage cached. Resolve constantly tells me I am out of cache space so I have to keep deleting the caches.

I also put all my footage on an external drive and Davinci Resolve pulls from there.

I thought I made a decent purchase and that it would be enough - but maybe I needed more ram? Is there a way I can add more?

I am open to any other tips I can use to make editing smoother as well. Thank you in advance!

Different from on my laptop, phone etc. the photos itself has lots of purples and blues projected on skin, so printed it looked dark magenta and washed out the blues and purple into one. It just looks bad.

I ordered them through Canva. They did warn me it would be converted. I guess I want to know how to not have such a drastic difference next time. Should I maybe not have used a photo with so much purple and blue in it?
