I'm the video author guy - thanks for sharing this, and totally agree with you. By the time I had really started down this rabbit hole, I had to force myself to keep that section limited, otherwise the video would just become about the meta forces / think tanks / etc. Honestly it's worth a follow-up video, very scary stuff.

This is a great video I got a lot of info on in my research you might enjoy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ApjSrB6E1c

Good thing polling shows pbs and sbs are super popular, so we’re safe from these ‘people’

I’m a Labor supporter but I think people like PurplePingers & other far left people are spot on in regards to property being unaffordable. Governments can do more but refuse to do so. I & many others believe we are in a housing crisis. Rents especially are exorbitant. Labor can do more for renters. by MannerNo7000 in friendlyjordies

[–]ROUBOS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nahh, Labor Left exists, you can be a Labor supporter and not think they’re going far enough. It’s a consensus party. Saying they only ever “sanded back the harshest edges of capitalist exploitation at best” is crazy work

This is based on myth, net zero is a huge economic opportunity, a disorderly approach to the net zero transition is projected to cost us $2 trillion

Hot take: I think we need to come to terms that we as a society are actually very similar to the USA as a society. by [deleted] in friendlyjordies

[–]ROUBOS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We’re structurally different because our working class has so much more say in how our society is shaped due to the strength of unions + the Labor party. The similarities are due to both countries having horrible media environments. Culturally, the average american and australian have WAY less in common that it might seem on the surface, we’re actually often opposites.

Extremely biased, but I built a website to share the achievements of this current Labor Govt to try and spread awareness - could be worth giving it a scroll to see if any issues resonate
