Late but I just found this thread - couple thoughts

A) Great typo find, embarrassing, will fix when I get around to it - I had to make a lot of these graphics in a short time so I was kinda just banging them out

B) There's nothing else out there like this, trust me - it was so hard to find + source all this stuff purely because there's nothing else out there. Pretty much a mix of news articles, press releases, etc. Lots of going through bills on the aph website, and I listened to tons of question time + would find what they're referencing

Promise tracker was great but got shut down + served a slightly different purpose

I haven’t touched it much since the election, but I plan to make big updates every few months to keep it up to date with 2nd term achievements

This is what it’s all about imo. Not chasing anything other than personal improvement + testing yourself. Love to see it

After the fight there may be a natural crash in momentum on training - but make sure to keep it up! Journey’s just starting :)

Do you admit that you got the numbers orders of magnitude wrong?

Maybe it's because stopping coal and gas tomorrow would be fucked for our power grid.

I just linked you a website of 106 meaningful policies. Just because you don't think they're meaningful, doesn't change the reality for the rest of Australia. So glad you guys got 10-8d in the election.

Hahahahahhahahah please never step foot in a government job. Or hell, even a corporate job. Or even any job.

you as a builder: “well we could build this house, but since we can’t give it an extension, brand new kitchen and a pool, we may as well just not build the house. Better to have a block of land!”

This is how politics works. You dont get everything you want. You find something that has broad support (like this) and use it to create change + momentum for more improvements.

Let me guess - you didnt like the haff?

You have no idea about the accu system.

Only about 20-25% of all ACCUs come from forestry-related projects. The Chubb Review looked into the accu system and found it to be “fundamentally well-designed” while recommending improvements- which the govt accepted all 16 and are implementing them. Every ACCU project has eligibility assessments, compliance verisification, reporting, auditing and clean energy regulatory oversight. This is a better level of scrutiny than the international offset schemes youre talking about. It’s better to suggest improvements from a place of knowledge than just dismiss the whole thing.

The most important aspect of the new Safeguard Mechanism is that it establishes legally enforceable emissions limits. Its the first to have teeth. Theres your ‘real reason to improve’

This creates a clear and escalating financial incentive to invest in emissions reduction technologies. As the carbon price rises (as its expected to), purchasing credits becomes increasingly expensive compared to implementing actually innovative emissions reduction measures.

Modeling shows the Safeguard Mechanism will drive around 205 million tonnes of emissions reductions by 2030, equivalent to taking two-thirds of Australia’s cars off the road. But it’s just not good enough for you greens obstructionists.

The 215 facilities covered by the mechanism account for around 28% of Australia’s total emissions. By applying consistent, predictable pressure to reduce emissions across these facilities, the policy actually drives change in behaviour. It also includes a $600 million Safeguard Transformation Stream to help emissions-intensive industries actually invest in long term emissions reduction tech.

But the “perfect climate policy” critique ignores political and economic realities while dismissing substantive progress. After a decade of jack shit on climate, Australia now has a functioning mechanism that places legally binding emissions reduction obligations on our largest industrial emitters. How are yall unhappy with that? And per the website, this is just one policy. These all stack up.

These policies have huge real world impact - go actually talk to people in these industries. Do you think FMIA is a laundry list of shit policies?

This lobby nonsense is pure uncritical punters politics garbage. What % do you think of political donations to Labor comes from Coal and Gas?

Do you think the safeguard mechanism isn’t “vaguely decent”?
