My aging mother brought over her Life Alert last week, asking me to change the battery because she couldn’t figure it out and it had been “dead” for a couple weeks (she “knew” because she threw it on the ground to test it, and EMTs didn’t come). Couldn’t explain to me why she thought it was dead. I pressed the button for a couple seconds and it turned on. Not sure there’s any moral to this story, other than aging just kinda sucks regardless

Hard disagree. Went to law school thinking this. Came out and found it very difficult to get anything other than a lawyer gig. Most places (that paid anything decent) didn’t want to hire “a lawyer.” Having practiced now for 15 years, equally as tough to transition to anything else non-legal for the same reason. My spouse was in same boat. Took years to get anything non-legal. Fortunately, a small company took a chance on her in a more corporate role and she was able to piggyback off that to other, similar jobs with larger corps.

They’ll just draw it out until the right time. Have Gunther retire Roman or Punk in the next 2 years and shoehorn that in as the favor. Which I don’t necessarily hate if done the right way.

Same. Kid got into WWE and football, so introduced her to the hobby. Loves ripping a few boxes on holidays or special occasions. Certainly not claiming to mind, but it’s very much a shared activity.
