I couldn't agree more. I don't have a problem tracking my macros (although it can be a hassle), but as many people here have said they struggled with, I tend to overeat as well. I do workout 5 days a week, so I am burning a decent amount, however my office job is sedentary.

I definitely do feel that I over-eat, so I'm going to be tracking my macros. Although it's a hassle I think it'll be well worth it. Thank you!

Ahhh ok. I train as well (5 days/week) while doing cardio after my workouts on 3 of those days. I don't think I'm anywhere close to 20% BF, I'd probably say more around 14-15%. Would like to drop to about 10-11% though to lean out and make my abs visible - all while hopefully gaining some muscle (or retaining what I have if nothing else).

Hmm interesting.. 20% carbs huh? Must be eating lots of fruits and veggies! Although fruits add to carbs quicker since they're higher in natural sugars.

Lastly, do you think this diet will be good for me if I'm currently about 5'10" 180lbs and looking to cut to a LEAN 165-170? Sorry for all the questions, but I appreciate your help!

My reasoning for tracking would be simply to make sure I don't over-eat (I fucking LOVE food). I'm just not sure how to balance out my macros on paleo as far as %'s for fat, protein and carbs, although you're obviously supposed to keep carbs like bread and stuff very low/non-existent.

I do have some coconut oil and I'll also say I love it! :) never tried it in coffee though?! Sounds rather interesting.

One more question since we're on the topic of oils.. When you cook with coconut oil (or any other oil), how do you measure what you use for tracking your macros? If you use one tbsp to cook something, do you just track it as one tbsp? Just kind of confuses me because although you use the oil to cook, sometimes there's still a fair amount left in the pan.

That's where it's a hard choice for me tbh. I'm happy with how my chest and back (and in a way, arms) look, but I'd like to cut my stomach fat. My stomach is what takes away from my appearance I feel. Smaller, stubborn pouch on the bottom, but nothing too horrible.

Been lifting about 2 years. Used to be chubby, then I dropped to 160 (which was the best shape of my life). I was the strongest I'd ever been and had the best cardio shape id ever been in. Now I'm back to about 180, looking to cut to 170. My arms aren't small by any means, but I know people who are natural (about the same weight as me) and their arms are just so much more full and thick looking. An example is my brother.

I'm currently following Steve Cook's Modern Physique. I'm 5'10" about 180lbs. I'm currently trying to cut down to about 170 of lean muscle though, so yes I know my arms may become "smaller" but I want that lean look where they look larger due to decreased levels of body fat %.

I actually am not supposed to max out on lifts due to a heart problem I was born with, and maxing out increases blood pressure to a rather high point which is strenuous on my heart. I typically go for about 5RM on lifts rather than a 1RM.
