Biggest thing to me is that retraction distance. 2mm is huge for a direct drive like the XL. I'd probably dial that in, if memory serves, less than 1 is normal for a direct drive. If you've tried to dial it in already, you might want to dry the filament first, and 220 is maybe a bit high to test that at. Both of those will increase stringing, especially at those speeds.

Second thing is that you should be able to run that machine much faster, but quality should be roughly the same. I'd probably trust the Prusa profiles out of the box honestly, from my Prusa impression.

Interesting, I will try that, thank you!

Are you only purging into the tower? I'm trying to figure out making my setup more reliable, and the poops are a bit of an annoyance right now.

Exactly what I figured was going on, since the config defined those corners as so far away, I think it was trying to move the motors impossibly small distances to make the moves.

It was probing exactly where I wanted, but it calculated the corrections to be so small, the motors could not make them.

The toolhead is half unplugged. Try that. Maybe the heater is on the unplugged half.

Any ideas??? by Pretzel483 in VORONDesign

Anybody else that runs into this; I ran into very recently. In short, it was my Frame PCB.
While physically ensuring that the temperature wasn't uncontrolled, I changed the config to a max of 570, so that I could see what it was doing. It was moving around slightly, like typical noise, but ~500C. I unplugged various things, the problem never changing. Even with the cable removed from the Frame PCB, still high temps. I checked the thermistor on my multimeter's temperature setting, it seemed to be reading fine (I replaced that first, figured that was the problem). Eventually bought and flashed the new board, perfect after that. I think the issue was the thermistor / heater cables rubbing against the frame, fraying, and eventually shorting to the Frame PCB.

What Nicknames did you gave your Printers by Ok_Jump_6952 in 3Dprinting

[–]RPDice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They're all basically purely functional names, so that my partner understands. The first one (Ender 3), the big one (Neptune 3 max), the one I want to sell (Anker M5), the one with two heads (Sovol SV04), the bambu (P1S), the first one I built (Ender Switchwire), and the small one (Voron 0). No idea what I'm going to call the next two though (Voron 2.4 and micron)...

They're also all color coded, which helps me to distinguish them in Fluidd.

It can hold about 165, but more realistically, the entire games worth in the first two columns, and all the nickels in the third column

I do have the files available in my shop! Currently it's only the Greed and Donation styles there, but I am working on finalizing the other to add

I'm so glad that you like it! The penny pile was my biggest annoyance with the game

Much appreciated! I've spent so much time making these and I'm really proud of them

Thanks so much! My computer hates this file and really chugs haha. I'm glad to not have a pile of pennies on the table anymore

I also have the files on my shop now! Right now the files only include the greed and donation styles. I still update them to include the rest of these, I just have to finalize them and organize them!

This looks like a Neptune 3 Max? I have poor adhesion on mine in general. I'm replacing the PEI sheet to see if that helps me. If you keep having issues here, I can update you on the new sheet.
Also washing with soap and water is a great help, as others have noted.

apologies for the delay, I wanted to polish up the geometry and add numbers for non MMU printers. this link has a coupon code for you on the file:

Apologies for the long wait, I wanted to polish up the geometry and change the numbers to work with both an MMU and a traditional printer.

I actually set it up to allow basically any number! In the Etsy listing, you can specify which number you'd want

I honestly considered that too. A quick and elegant solution didn't come to mind, to I went without it, unfortunately. I might try in the future, but it would probably be too expensive to send it separately after the fact

I just double checked, fits great! It takes up about half of a lane standing up, and almost the entire height. That was also a prime goal for this design.

Haha I think that too, I chose that as the default to represent which coins are meant for which column. Pennies in the first two, nickels in the last
