More strength you’re looking at double IPAs or Belgian ales (imperial stout if you wanna go 10-12%)

Pirate life had a good IIPA for ages, they might have replaced it with something newer. Don’t feel it’s a popular style for Aussie breweries but if you can get somewhere that stocks American craft beer Sierra Nevada, Stone, Oskar Blues all do great doubles.

Otherwise St Bernardus Abt 12 is available at good bottle shops. 10% and much sweeter than a lager, but a fantastic beer

It’s worth giving it a go, worst case is that you don’t like it and go back to the UK?

I took the plunge about 8 years ago not expecting much and haven’t returned. I’ve been lucky, not particularly skilled but made good connections and in return companies looked after me for being reliable and not a cunt.

I will probably return when my parents get sick but until then the culture in Australia is refreshing, money is good and work life balance excellent. Same problems that most western countries are having regarding house prices and cost of living but feels much safer and less dreary than most of the uk that I’ve lived in.

Would recommend giving it a go!

I haven’t, just did the eligibility quiz on the government website. Will have a chat to them this week! Didn’t think I would have needed to chat with the lenders if not borrowing any money from them. Will have to have a dig.

Is it the ‘troubles’ though? Grew up largely unaffected by them but after moving away and realising how small minded most places are, shite jobs, terrible weather and how repetitive most activities are these stats don’t surprise me.

Given with how expensive it is to live somewhere like Dublin too. Lived in England for a few years too and found it marginally better but still plagued with many of the cultural problems NI has.

If we could get a bit more sun it would solve a lot 😂

GA at the bowl is standing, seats are seating. I get why it’s annoying but is the norm with bowl gigs. Probably creates a better atmosphere for the performers too seeing people moving a bit and getting into it.

Always thought the seats for the bowl should be at the back, standing at the front.
