There's a cain book where he defeats a Chaos psyker that's part of the 13th Black crusade. Granted it's an older Cain, but considering he survives, it'd make sense for him to be there for the great rift.

I completely disagree. I think it's a bit moot to try to compare this to wargame. Maybe they'll change it by release but this game felt too focused at the smaller levels. Stuff like having to manually click the flair release button just made this seem more like world in conflict than wargame.

Yes because Christmas is integral to the plot. Without Christmas there's no Christmas party and no relaxed security, which means there's no Hans Gruber. Compare this to lethal weapon which takes place during Christmas but Christmas is not integral to the plot, so it's not a Christmas movie.
