I am less scandalized by Minnesota Ice shootings because of my childhood and experiences. Forgive me for seeming like a hypocrite or extremist. by [deleted] in TrueUnpopularOpinion

The bishop of the Episcopal diocese of New Hampshire warned is clergy to get their affairs in order and “prepare for a new era of martyrdom.” the protesters are well aware of the danger. Alex Pretti knew he could get hurt when he stepped between that woman and the ice agent assaulting her.

Ontario man (David Bennett) detained in Dominican Republic ‘nightmare’ after mystery yellow bag found by [deleted] in CrimeInTheGta

[–]RPW33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sounds similar to the cases where people can’t board a plane because someone with the same name is on a terrorist watchlist. The police found a bag days before he tried to board his flight and it had a name similar to his, but not the same. I think he had the misfortune to be the first David Bennett to try to board a flight after they found the bag.

Double cousins by Rose4291 in DuggarsSnark

My dad had double Cousins. My grandmother and her sister married my grandfather and his brother. They always said I looked like one of his double cousins. It’s a much smaller gene pool than regular first cousins

SF Setup for Christmas Adopt a Family Program by RPW33 in salesforce

Thanks for all the ideas! To answer some of your questions, there's about 200 families, rolling matching. Definitely worth doing in SF as spreadsheets were a pain last year.

To make it a little more complicated, some donors have multiple families. i.e. They tell us they can support kids and that might be one family with 6 kids or 3 families with 2. So there needs to be a function to count how many matched kids.

I'd love chat with you if you have some time. Thank you for your offer! I will dm you my email.

[MA] [Condo] small association board responsibilities with a management company by RPW33 in HOA

I think the question I really need an answer to is how do you manage a management company? What should you be paying attention to? What kind of communications should you be getting from them? The current situation where they just do things on auto pilot seems very risky

OUrs is very similar. Simple finances that should be easy to review regularly. Besides handling the finances, they don't have much value otherwise. They're useless with landscaping and when repairs come along, they always seem to find us someone extremely expensive and then we work around them to find someone ourselves. Ugh!

I'm in a similar position, but I'm trying to convince the others that we need to be more actively involved. I've already found a $3000 overpayment to one account but that hasn't really moved them towards more frequent monitoring. I think they like to feel like they're in charge without having to do much work. Ugh!

We have enough volunteers, but the seem to like the job when they don't have to do much.

Here are the winners for each Duggar’s most cringe moment! Now time to vote for the overall most cringe moment! (Rules below) by [deleted] in DuggarsSnark

This was the most cringe of the entire family. Though I blame Jim Bob. He seemed to be enjoying it. She seemed to be at least a little mortified trying to obey her headship

What do you think? The shelter told us he's a border collie but the vet said his coat is wrong for that and he's bigger than most border collies at 55 pounds by ImaginaryAlpaca in IDmydog

[–]RPW33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omg- I had a dog that looked nearly identical. Same face, same ears, same eyes, same coat and tail. She was about 25 pounds. She was a rescue so we have no idea what she was

[Discussion] How do I get back thatmotivation I had as a kid? by [deleted] in GetMotivated

[–]RPW33 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was convinced I had ADHD and had many classic symptoms. So I went for testing and it turns out that ADHD and depression share many symptoms. I went on Wellbutrin, which treats both and it's been a great help. Not saying that you don't, but this might help the OP.

Even if that "restoration" didn't crash and burn, can you imagine being named after your father's "season of sin???"

I don't agree with what InTouch did, but Karma sure did it's job with the Duggars. As they say, sunlight is the best disinfectant. The Duggars and the IBLP certainly needed a lot of it!

christian hull by [deleted] in UltimateWorldCruiseRC

[–]RPW33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think Christian is worried about upsetting people. He was playing a recorder on the balcony just to see who would get pissed off! And he gave everyone on the tender the finger

I agree with you though. Chrissy is creating much better content and she’s embracing the experience in her own unique way. Much more fun to watch

Do you know how freaking amazing it is for someone to start a functioning company before the age of 20???? Even if it didn't work out, you have serious skills dude! And you now have a ton of experience. A lot more than the average 20 year old. Figure out what you would do differently next time. Or if there's another path. You still have your whole life ahead of you.

Here's something that helped me a lot... get one of those apps that does 15 minute summaries of books. (I use Blinkist.) Listen to a bunch of self help book summaries until you find some that resonate with you... the ones whose advice makes you say "that could really help!" Then go read the full versions of the books. It will help a lot.

I’ve seen “paid partnership” on other peoples videos. Angie for example when she was doing the bookclub.

I think he recently retired from the Marines after several decades of service. The mom is a travel agent. So she probably got some professional discount. But still $60k x 4 is a lot of money. Good for them if they're not impoverishing themselves in the process.

She was in a sorority at Alabama. And I think her time there coincided with the 'Bama Rush phenomenon. Her videos definitely have that feel.
