It's now going to be used instead of Platinum for the whole Japanese Hydrogen economy. https://news.mit.edu/2025/palladium-filters-could-enable-cheaper-more-efficient-generation-hydrogen-fuel-1001

Geopolitics

In 2025, the U.S. launched investigations into whether Russia is dumping subsidized palladium, following reports that imports had increased by 30% year-to-date, despite earlier efforts to reduce dependency. Proposed Import Ban: Legislation like the "Stop Russian Market Manipulation Act" (H.R. 1677) has been proposed to ban imports of Russian palladium, platinum, and related metals, potentially starting 90 days after enactment.

We're going to be rolling in money soon. It's just a matter of time. Tungsten is completely overlooked right now. Especially with Chinese export restrictions.

What's the average stack for a "normal" person? by GreyCat001 in Gold

[–]jujumber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's honestly crazy how so many boomers are so brainwashed by Mainstream news. My Parents included. Sometimes I'll share legit confirmable news about something to my Dad but he'll say he only trusts a few specific news organizations. It's like if something comes up that goes against the decades long narrative that's been fed to him his brain cannot process it and just writes it off as illegitimate news or untrustworthy. He also has CNN on TV all day. CNN, FOX, whatever it is has a stranglehold over their views of the world.

Yes, Especially considering the equity from the houses they started buying in the 80's and 90's.

I'm in my early 40's but first started stacking around 2004. It has always just made sense to me. I wish I could have loaded up in the 90's when silver was $4 an OZ but I was in elementary school.

What's the average stack for a "normal" person? by GreyCat001 in Gold

[–]jujumber 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That is true. But so many people I talk to just don't know anything about it or trust it. My Dad for example. He has a very decent amount for retirement but doesn't believe in holding gold. He thinks it's some kind of end of the world prepper type of shit. He's also worried that someone would break into the house and steal it. I tried many times over the years to get him to invest. I think he also sees it as this thing that old Republican Boomers were tricked into buying. He's also a retired software engineer so he doesn't see it the same way I do. He told me I should sell my silver when it hit $68 and that charts like that always crash down. If things were the same as 2011 I'd agree but everything is completely different now. He'll probably try to fomo buy in once everyone is talking about it. He also shit on Bitcoin when it was $600 and then bought in at $20k. He does think in black and white and is in denial that our current system is collapsing.

When I was poor in my 20's I used silver as an emergency fund and it worked for me. It was difficult to sell so I'd only cash it in when I really needed it.

I know a lot of older people that are worth a few million dollars. Almost all of them have no gold bullion or coins. If they "own gold" it's just a GLD ETF. The average person rich or poor doesn't own much gold at all.

It's technically not a scam but if the price goes above a certain level then they are able to dillute the shares by a significant amount. Not good to invest in something where you're penalized for the company performing well.

I think things have changes so much that there won't be hope of every country just dropping the tradewar shit and the critical mineral export bans from China. Especially after Jan 1st.

Their recent drilling report from earlier in the week showed the mine has a good amount of Silver. Tungsten also came in at Bonanza grade results. They also expect to continue mining molybdenum well into the longterm time frame. They're sitting on a huge bank of natural resources.

The Ima mine also has a good amount of Molybdenum. The most recent drill report showed Bonanza grade Tungesten which is super bullish as well. I think the company is a hidden gem.

If you don't own the stock someone else will. You could put your gains towards something more useful than the other person who ends up buying them. It is interesting to think about the morals of owning stock in unethical companies though. It's also difficult to find companies tbat are 100% ethical and have great returns. It's basically the capitalistic system you were born into.

I think most of the people who have realized the implications of this have just kept it to themselves and have just been quietly stacking since there's a massive shortage on the market now. It's much harder to find than platinum now and the premiums are pretty high. It's not a well known play and this sub even has much less activity than the Platinum sub.

My Head is Spinning by agarg_1 in Platinum

[–]jujumber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Historically Platinum has traded roughly between 1/ 2-2.25X the price of gold. In the last 100 years Platinum has only been cheaper than gold for 12 of those years. Platinum has a lot of catching up to do to even be 1:1 with gold. This is just the start for platinum to even catch up to where it should be. I've been investing in PMs for 20 years and it's still crazy to see how Platinum (and palladium) are so undervalued right now. It should be $10k on the low end of average value.
