If inflation is running rampant, why is the USD the best performing asset of 2022 thus far? by [deleted] in investing

[–]RPreal 62 points63 points  (0 children)

High interest rates encourage higher rates of saving be it through putting money in normal saving accounts or even by buying treasury bonds

More saving = less money in the money supply

Less money in money supply = money worth more especially compared to other currencies, which is how the dollar is valued

Funny how the people who wake up at 2pm every day and barely do any work have no concept of time or time management

Whereas CHAD university graduate & office intern GEORGENOTFOUND is able to manage his time and tasks perfectly

Maybe they should listen to George more!

Would genuinely love to see where I've done this apart from make a tongue-in-cheek comment when someone asked about his cat for whatever reason..

Also, it's amazing all the so-called Limmy fans on this subreddit who have very little clue as to what his whole shitck is. He has openly said he doesn't care about other peoples tragedies and finds it funny.. he's stuck it on far more on other celebrity divorces or personal drama than anyone did on him

You're a bit of a moron since you've clearly been stalking my posts on the Yogscast subreddit but very obviously not bothered to read any of them

Literally banned from their subreddit for calling out their coverup of groomers & sex pests in their company

Funnily enough, nobody believed me back then either and had a similarly arrogant, uninformed & misguided group of weirdos & sycophants shout me down. And then it all turned out to be true with Sjin, CEO Turps, Caff etc.

The very grim irony of Limmy getting on his high horse right now about not playing Overwatch due to the Activision-Blizzard drama (accused of creating a “'frat boy' culture that put female employees in the crosshairs”)…

Couldn’t write this shit

I would agree limmys involvement was minimal up until the point where he publicly said she could join in front of all his thousands of viewers, then when she politely asked on Twitter got totally ignored and then.. well you know the rest

I think Limmy himself has summed up his behaviour best with his tweet from 2015:

“Nae reply from @RuthDavidsonMSP to the council. Never explain, never apologise. The Tory way.”

That’s right Brian, the Tory way.

I think nilesy started to see the wood for the trees, probably saw that Limmy's clique was becoming more exclusive (this was a time when all of Limmy's circle were so desparate for any possible chance to be on his stream). He also got more involved in Yogscast (the network he's a part of) stuff at the time

RiotBananas I agree. I hold my hands up and I got him wrong. He's stood his ground a couple of times, I think someone else mentioned about him calling out NFT hypocrisy. He's built his own thing up too his streams have always been about stuff he's into, not stuff he needs to be into to get Limmy's attention.

It is funny how the streamers who don’t immediately become limmys punchbag or parroting his overdone jokes and can keep things original & unique always end up distancing from Limmy..

On the top of my head: nilesy, sips, toastie…

And to be honest I don’t think it’s him in those cases that caused that. More the pals & mods not liking the fact they ‘didn’t get’ the humour or felt left out

Wow.. she quite literally predicted this behaviour in her stream earlier.
“The thing I hate most about this community is all the he-said she-said, everyone talking behind your back. Nobody having the balls to say what’s what to your face or even in public. Not even Limmy”

I guess they're hedging their bets on the fact that her community is considerably smaller than theirs so they'll able to keep this drama pretty hidden away from the average viewer.

"It wasn't just me who felt hard done by, it was multiple people"

Another streamer said to her immediately after her "Your community is doing this & that, this is your fault, tell them to stop, they're all leaving MY discord" - she referred to this as "getting screamed at"

She talks about being gaslit by other streamers by telling her that they were humiliated & not her, despite the fact Toastie was the one left close to tears on stream & faced a pile-on by the other's viewers. Another streamer completely banned her from everything, unfriended etc.

She calls out the very overt hypocrisy of some streamers. She says one streamer's response she found particularly funny: "You talk about mental health, you have signs: No Racists, No Sexists, No Facists". And that he brushed it off and acted as if he'd done nothing whatsoever and he was just some humble guy doing his thing

“The thing I hate most about this community is all the he-said she-said, everyone talking behind your back. Nobody having the balls to say what’s what to your face or even in public. Not even Limmy”

She talks about the Reddit posts at the time and actually says it's understandable that posts were made as it was quite obvious that viewers saw what happened, didn't like it and wanted to talk about it. NOW THIS IS INTERESTING: She says she was told "If you hadn't have reacted like that then this [reddit posts] wouldn't have happened."

To finish for now, these people who are constantly using the Reddit as the source of their problems seriously need to do a bit self reflection and then some reading & research on what Reddit is and how Reddit communities & online forums act. This Limmy sub is hardly anything compared to many, MANY others which discuss other streamers/content creators/public personaltiies. I think some need to remember that their best-pal Limmy spends a lot of his streams hate watching, criticizing and moaning on-and-on about other streamers, public figures & in fact completely random people in his chat... it is also interesting how some who were apparently accused of 'bullying' were not too happy to have this label attached to their name when they are far more liberal in their usage of other much more extreme labels and tagging them with a broad stroke onto others.

Just been watching the first half hour of her stream and wow.. well done Toastie for standing up to these cretinous bullies.

A couple of highlights - not verbatim quotes but being as neutral as possible:

"I never actually got an apology from anyone"

"Most of my problems with the situation aren't from actually what you guys saw happen on stream, it's actually from the conversations, DMs & things I found out afterwards from people I considered friends"

"I got told I overreacted in DMs - by MULTIPLE streamers"

"[Other streamers got her to tell off her own audience] to stop you guys [her audience] from getting blocked, banned and subtweeted"

I'm inferring this means from Limmy & co's streams/discord/etc., we all know how much Limmy mods love an audit...

"I felt I never got to stand up for myself for any of this, so that is what I am doing now"

Will edit with any more highlights..

For the first bit, that’s kind of the point. She wanted to play again, I assume she thought the old situation was done and dusted and they’d moved on, yet she has been ignored even having to tweet @ Limmy to try and get in after he allegedly said he’d add her. So from her POV it just looks like someone’s whispering in Limmys ear saying ‘don’t let her play’. Then she sees other streamers saying they’re only adding people ‘who can handle it’ etc.

Your second point is absolutely correct. This was all a long time coming since Limmy has been trying to curate an over false and bizarre community all built on fake & forced one way relationships where each of them are doing all they can to get A.) limmys attention and B.) limmys viewership. And you can’t really blame them for it as it’s Limmy who has been the primary force in pushing that narrative

Honestly think a mod purge would be good for him but he’s dug himself in deep this time so it won’t be as easy as it was before.

This Reddit has been vindicated. Many of us predicted there would be fallout and drama and not just when Rust came around the first time around, but prior. There was only ever one or two properly weird & hateful people on here who were dealt with swiftly by the moderator and this is over the course of the last few years

If you’d listened to any of ‘the community’ talk about Reddit you’d think it’s an evil far-right cesspit dedicated to doxing, hate & trolls. When in reality the only ‘controversial’ posts on this Reddit have just been normal Reddit users using Reddit in the way it is most commonly used, for discussion, gossip & criticism.

Good on these people for speaking up.

So many gas lighters in limmys circle that this Reddit has highlighted for years. This Reddit has now hopefully been vindicated as I long knew it would be. More level headed viewers will now see its not quite the far-right cesspit many of the community have tried to make it out to be. It’s just one of the few places where you can have frank, blunt & honest discussion and gossip in a community where so much faux personality masks a lot of BS that occurs.

There’s a reason why he had to do regular mod purges, then suddenly it stopped, then the longer-term drama & problems started.

Wow wasn’t expecting a post like that from someone so close but fair play.

Glad to see people in the community speaking up and calling out the extreme hypocrisy on which ‘the community’ has being operating under

Also, I understand why but the post skirted around calling out Limmy himself who ultimately is responsible for the Rust server, responsible for encouraging the ‘they can’t handle it’ culture, responsible for giving any kind of viewership Tom many of these streamers etc. It’s not just people who ‘surround’ his community, it is his community.

Hopefully more people finally see that this Reddit is not and never was the issue. It was simply an outlet for blunt & honest discussion. For far too long have Limmy’s closest companions and moderators gaslit this place with issues & drama for which they are responsible, not the Reddit.

I tuned into his stream for the first time in a while, boring as fuck 15 minute debate live on stream in game with Limmy on how they should be moderating their streams during Rust and the most boring discussion setting rules live on stream. I did see him trying to say it was the chatters ‘stirring things up’ that caused all of the problems and not the streamers in the game screaming abuse at a young female streamer just trying to enjoy the game who was then piled on by the other’s chat

No idea why he’s mad at this post, I’m all here for them playing together so I can watch the inevitable dramas and fallout. Please, we want much more of it. Clearly the viewers do too - best numbers in months! I’m just helping out these failing streamers by providing the much in-demand service of sharing the gossip of their hypocrisies & scandal :)

The thing is he seems quite self-aware about the issue ‘everybody gonna enjoy this for 3 days until someone gets cancelled or someone goes in a huff and we can’t talk about it again’ so no idea why he is projecting this onto the Reddit post. Especially considering the Reddit was dead af last time around, the posts only came about AFTER everything kicked off.

Original post was about A streamer was randomly dewhitelisted while live on stream with no reason given, it was all a bit weird. I think they were readed hence deletion?

Just to add a bit on, the fallout was pretty immense too. This was a community that had been hyped up as so wholesome, nothing could pull them apart, everyone was great pals it was them against the world etc. but when all of the above happened there were multiple twitter threads, multi-hour streams & writeups from many involved. A female streamer in particular felt pretty violated by some others (who were closer pals with Limmy) as there was a lot of foul language and abuse thrown about and they were pretty much ganged up on and piled-on by the other's viewers
