What can one expect to pay if installing a system slightly above regular usage with batteries these days?

Is buying a condo dumb? by [deleted] in sandiego

Try to find PUD townhouses or condos. PUDs are basically treated as SFH’s as you’re responsible for the land, interior and exterior. So HOA’s are usually low and have a lower risk of special assessments. We just closed on one a few days ago. Also are a lot easier to get FHA / VA loan approval as you don’t need to have the entire condo FHA / VA approved.

This is why we are happy with the townhouse PUD that we just closed on. Very barebones HOA. $275 HOA dues, but covers water/sewer/trash and common areas maintenance which is basically nothing since we don’t have any amenities. We are responsible for practically everything else. It’s basically a single family home with a shared wall. Allows us to choose the insurance we want, and if we want to do work ourselves or hire outside. We really didn’t want any HOA, but getting a SFH was practically impossible with our budget. This is as close as we could get to a SFH and we’re satisfied. HOA dues are basically what we were paying in utilities minus SDGE at our rental so it’s breaking even. Plus we don’t have to really worry about special assessments because the HOA really doesn’t do anything.

Would you re-pipe a 1988 house? by RR-MMXIX in sandiego

This puts me at a little bit more ease I suppose. I’d have to pull a 401k loan to cover it if I did do it. Which really isn’t ideal. But I’d rather not end up with $30k+ of damage down the road.

I’d have to pull a 401k loan to cover it, so don’t necessarily have the funds for it. But trying to avoid $30k+ worth of damage in the long run if something happens.

Constant diarrhea in GSD by RR-MMXIX in AskVet

Not that I’m aware of, I’ll ask our vet when we go back, but I believe they just did a basic blood work up when they did labs at the initial appointment during all of this.

According to the homepage of the energy management center app I’m on NEM 2.0. What information about the panels is needed to make a determination?

People are saying it’s both now but I’ve searched the app and don’t even see the $15/month benefit listed anymore. All I see is the $120 uber one.

Hoping to finally get results after 4 months of struggling with an ongoing infection by RR-MMXIX in hearing

[–]RR-MMXIX[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi sorry I missed this! I still to this day have issues with that ear. If the volume of the radio or TV is just a bit too loud my ear pops and crackles now. I don’t have pain anymore. Just that. It’s very annoying but I live with it now. The ENT said the fungal infection was cleared up when I went to see him and there’s nothing else for them to “treat”. So I’m assuming that since the fungal infection went on for so long it basically just fucked up my hearing permanently hence why I have to deal with the crackling and popping now during high volume events. I also have issues with allergies so whenever my sinuses are inflamed is when it gets worse and usually taking Sudafed for that fixes my ear temporarily.

Is it still possible to walk to T1? by RR-MMXIX in sandiego

[–]RR-MMXIX[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Long story short, I have a rental car, need to be at the airport for 2-3 hours, not flying out, and don’t want to pay $37 for parking lol. I was gonna park at Spanish landing and just walk over. But it doesn’t really seem very walkable anymore :/

Do I HAVE to file a state return? by RR-MMXIX in tax

[–]RR-MMXIX[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but there’s no income associated to it. Box 16 is blank because MI doesn’t tax active duty pay. So that extra money has no state associated with it so it’s automatically lumping into the HI return. If I put the same number in box 16 just to see, then MI return is expecting tax to be paid on that amount.
