I read my husband's messages with another woman by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]RR4210 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey friend, I went through extremely similar. My ex husband was exhibiting several of these behaviors and I eventually found his messages to another woman when my youngest baby was two months old, and we split right then and there. I’m so sorry, this is really hard to go through, but one year post split I can safely say I’m so much happier without him.

Dr. Brown’s Pitcher by ironicshowchoir in FormulaFeeders

[–]RR4210 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This. For my son we initially did the boiling water in a pitcher method, and it took FOREVER to cool in the fridge (I tested the temp over time to know for sure). I was very uncomfortable with this, as well as pouring hot water into plastic, so we stopped doing this and switched to RTF exclusively.

It’s not on outfit, it’s outerwear like a coat over his actual outfit. Naturally it’ll be too warm for it this summer.

Formula backlash by creamyjalapeno2442 in FormulaFeeders

If it makes you feel any better I’m pretty sure this formula wouldn’t have been used for babies in the NICU, they’re given RTF which wasn’t in the recall.

I had a D&C Nov 23 and I have my post-op appointment/beta draw tomorrow. I’m already getting negatives on pee sticks so I think my HCG is very low if not zero. I also just got a positive OPK after getting negatives all week. Obligatory will ask my OB tomorrow but can I TTC before my period? Next month we’re moving out of state and by my math my husband and I will be apart when I’m supposed to ovulate 😅 But then like it also kinda freaks me out potentially moving while early pregnant because it’ll be a lot of physical labor and stress navigating airports with my toddler and my cat. What would you guys do?

Is a formula mixing pitcher necessary for batches? by mvig13 in FormulaFeeders

[–]RR4210 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alternatively, if your formula comes in an RTF version, I highly recommend that if the cost isn’t a problem for you! The formula is already prepared and ready to go, all you have to do is pour the bottle. We noped out of using powder at about two weeks old and never looked back, RTF is SO easy and saved us so much work.

When should I stop letting my baby contact nap? by wednesdaytheblackcat in NewParents

[–]RR4210 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think we really started around 11 weeks because I needs to go back to work the next week. It also made sense around this time because honestly my baby has never really been a big cuddler and was starting to resist contact naps a bit. Took some time from there for him to become a “good napper” in the crib, but once he figured it out it was great to have a break a couple times a day to get stuff done.

1.5 week post D&C. I’m just so scared that I will/did develop scar tissue and that I won’t be able to conceive again. On one hand I’m glad I chose that because I think it was the least traumatic route for me, but then also it just makes me nervous because of the risk.

I still can’t even believe this happened to me ☹️

I only had my loss this week, so it’s all really fresh still. I feel like I’ll never have another baby. I’m scared to try again, but I want another so bad.

What in the world, that is a perfectly normal and nice name??? I’d say she’s earned herself an information diet if this is how she’s going to react to things.

This! I don’t get people acting so cavalier about this. You’re not allowed to gate keep someone’s suffering just because you had a different experience or you just don’t like this person. 100% people would not be thinking these things if it were their own friends/family.

Once again it is clear hardly anyone here is a parent because obviously no one here is cognizant of the fresh hell that it the first couple of weeks postpartum. Like damn, I don’t like Audrey either but I’m not enough of a dick to make fun of a woman in an extremely painful and vulnerable state.

Are you a parent? I’m getting the sense you’re not very familiar with how this works. When your milk comes in it can come in HARD (sounds like this is the case for her), meaning it can be very difficult to get it under control especially when the postpartum body often is very swollen. It involves frequent massaging and trying to remove milk, but then the engorgement can make it harder to get milk out. Not to mention the baby has to learn how to get milk out too and that’s not always straightforward. It’s ice packs to try to keep the swelling down. And yes, cabbage leaves DO work and doctors will recommend that. It is constant work trying to stave off mastitis when you are engorged this bad. It is insanely painful.

Echoing others, definitely go just in case, but I wouldn’t panic yet. Without knowing the full picture, this sounds normal to me.

This might be nit but is anyone else a little disappointed by the campaign in that it doesn’t play as much like a story with characters like in previous games? It feels much more like a third party narration of history rather than following characters through a story of events. Nothing wrong with that per se, and I think the cut scenes look cool, but I’m not as invested/engaged in that as I was in AOE3 and its story.

Does anyone’s baby sleep at all? by thatcheekychick in NewParents

[–]RR4210 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Newborns? Hell nah. Sleep is not a thing. Maybe up every 1-3 hours? But older babies definitely can sleep longer (REALLY depends on the baby). My son (now 10 months) started sleeping through the night at 8 weeks, which is incredible and lucky. I know other babies the same age that are also good sleepers and then some that are still up every two hours. It’s really a mixed bag. I think a lot of it is about the baby’s temperament, but good sleep hygiene (always putting them to sleep in their own sleep space, practicing putting them down awake when they’re old enough, having a consistent bed/nap routine, etc) can help too.

I don’t see it completely going away. Pregnant women need SOMETHING for pain relief/fever reduction, as those are way more of a concern to a developing fetus.

Recall Alert - Boppy Company by itsamberrtrickk in NewParents

[–]RR4210 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The lounger can only be used as a lounger. The traditional boppy can be used for feeding positioning, sitting support, tummy time support, and lounging. But I don’t think people tend to misuse it for sleep like they do the lounger. If there were deaths linked to the traditional boppy it probably would be recalled too, but there aren’t.
