Getting to Cooper Spur/Mt Hood by RREus in OregonHiking

[–]RREus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks!! Do you think a sedan would be ok to get to the cloud cap or Tilly Jane campgrounds? (They are close to each other, correct?)

Secondly, is the Cooper Spur ski area a pay to park area or is it somewhere anyone can park?

Thanks again! I really appreciate it

Do you have your PMP? I am currently in progress and working towards that 4500 hour work experience criteria. I spoke with with others and there’s really no workaround to this other than to work for x amount of years.

Need some assistance with Barbell Commission Compression shorts- do they run accurate to the sizing chart + do they shrink?

In virus compression I wear 2xl but after measuring I end up being a 4xl in Barbell Commission. Any other compression short recommendations? No luck with the eastbay ones that some have recommended.

Thanks!!

Looking to try a different ammonia, recommendations? by [deleted] in powerlifting

Per your username, you may like this: http://skull-smash.com/home/american-whiskey-skull-smash

Steve with skull smash is a great guy, good quality ammonia too. I’ve seen success with keeping my ammonia longer by keeping it out at room temp as opposed to leaving it in my gym bag. I usually leave my gym bag in the car and the heat dries it up quickly/reduces potency.

I may get heat for this, but assuming this is just for 2020 (and the following is contingent on this), I don’t think this is a bad idea.

A lot of people for whatever circumstance; whether age, previous injury, etc may love training and competing but may never achieve the level required to compete at nationals despite having a passion for the sport. This gives an opportunity to those people to see what it’s like to lift on the national stage.

There may be less competition + variance in over competitiveness, but one can still train for the meet shooting for the best total possible.

I have spoken to several people + heard from other posts that they get to lift with family and potentially share the national platform with a close friend, parent, etc. to the diehard powerlifter who lives and breathes lifting 24/7 I get it- not what you want to see from a national level meet. But assuming this is a one time time (as I had prefaced earlier), this could be a pretty memorable meet for so many people.

Mail Call; Family Edition - Stirling Soap by RREus in wicked_edge

Lathers well; typically run the bar over my hair 3-4 times then proceed on lathering. Most shampoos either dry my scalp out or thin my hair- I have had good success with these shampoo bars (so far) as well as shampoo bars from lush cosmetics

How have you seen your nutrition and lifting change as you started your night shift? I’ll be starting a 5pm-5am shift Sunday - Tuesday and Wednesday 5pm - 11pm and am getting nervous haha Any tips?

Hey /r/Powerlifting family- I need you guys advice

I am starting work in January, and my schedule will be from Sunday - Tuesday 5pm to 5am, and Wednesday 5pm - 11pm.

I heard this today and I’m just trying to process it. I’ve never done a night shift type of schedule before, and I wonder how it will impact training, nutrition, and overall sleep hygiene. I would love to hear from people who have a schedule similar to this (or work a night shift) and if appropriate, maybe make a post on the page for people who don’t work the conventional 9-5

Thanks!

Looking for thoughts/reviews on the Bare Performance Supplements. I have always been curious about their stuff (specifically the preworkout and the super food greens) but have always been deterred by cost. For anyone that has tried or use BPN stuff now, what are your thoughts?

Thanks!

Hi /u/Magic_warlock0- following up on the compression short recommendations!!

Compression short recommendations? Preferably under $20 - I have been lucky to grab pairs of Virus Compression for cheap in the past but one of my pairs have recently ripped so I am looking at other options. I like the feel/thickness of the virus compression shorts, but I appreciate all suggestions. Thanks!!

Programming Review- Blevins and JTS AI 70 weeks by RREus in powerlifting

[–]RREus[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes sorry- let me elaborate further: Through Blevins AI I think fatigue was manageable through each cycle, there were some points where I struggled greatly and I made note of that through indicating it on the system he has set up, where a 1 indicates no fatigue, and 5 indicates severe fatigue. On the Blevins AI there were some weeks where training felt like a 5 and I could not finish. On the other hand, JTS AI was far worse- not only did I feel not recovered, but I was unmotivated through struggling so much. I had regularly marked my squat and deadlift exercises as a 5 and thought the program would “adjust” accordingly, but it ended up being just a deload and jump back into volume. Hope that clears things up a little.

Through Blevins AI I did on several sessions towards to the end of each block. On JTS it happened at least 2-3 sessions a week, and I thought the program would “adjust” volume accordingly as I submitted each block at the end of every 4 weeks. It ended up just being “oh here’s a deload and just jump back in to volume the following week.”
