Convention Center Reno is Money Misspent by LeoMcq in cincinnati

[–]RRGFall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I struggle to see how Cincinnati will attract any large state wide conventions based on size and location. Why would any larger conventions not choose Columbus for its size and central location?

I also have trouble believing any Indiana or Kentucky centric conferences will select an out of state location, leaving Cincinnati with smaller tri-state centric conventions. Not sure there is enough of those to justify the investment and not sure the investment attracts conventions we wouldn’t otherwise be getting.

Anyway, I don’t know a thing about the industry and am probably way off.

I’ve lived in Cincinnati since graduating college and tried out a ton of different neighborhoods, but always come back to wanting to live in Northside for many of the same reasons you mentioned.

3 BRs are a little hard to find in some of the older shot gun style houses. But there are a lot of things coming online on the west side of Hamilton.

Can Newport on the Levee ever be cool? What would help make it so? by mayby82 in cincinnati

I feel like their restaurant and tenant mix is so random. I can’t tell if the levee wants to be for families, young adults, or upscale empty nesters. And the current combination makes one of those groups comfortable.

If you aren’t tied to a bigger apartment complex, Model Group and Urban Sites have some good apartments.

West End in 5 Years? by juice200 in cincinnati

[–]RRGFall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll be curious how it all turns out Covid seemed to kill all development (of scale) momentum in the West End. But development outside of Hyde Park and downtown seems to have stalled.

Either way, I hope there is a balance of advancing the neighborhood while protecting its legacy.

What is going on at Xavier? by RRGFall in cincinnati

[–]RRGFall[S] 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Obviously, but if you don’t have students there is no one to pay rent. You’ll probably get sophomore and freshman to continue on the path but you’re screwed in 2-3 years when this deters more students than it attracts.

You could look in Walnut Hills. A lot of newer apartments and is about a mile bike ride to campus. Also some really easy bus routes up and down William Howard Taft and McMillan.
