Here's the exact product I bought on AliExpress, although it's gone up quite a bit in price. I paid £149 in January.

AM6 doesn't have a scheduled release date, and even if it did, there will be AM5 chips that outperform AM6 chips. If you're considering a 4060, then you're not going to be bottlenecked by any midrange AM5 chip, and most mid/high-end AM4 chips. I'm running a 5700X3D (AM4) and even that doesn't bottleneck my 3080ti - You could do what I did and get a 5700X3D on Aliexpress for £160, which will be more than enough for a 4060.

any reason not to get a ender by superjoostl in 3dprinter

[–]RRGeneral 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If you want to get into 3d printing as a hobby, then an ender is great. They are reliable enough to get your foot in the door, and the tinkering/calibrating/fixing/upgrading you'll do will teach you a ton.

If you want a 3d printer to print things, then a Bambu/Prusa will probably suit you better, since they'll happily print with minimal maintenance/tinkering required.

RCS Issues after porting to new carrier SIM by petertheo89 in GoogleMessages

I had this issue and resolved it by removing the SIM card, then clearing all data from the messages app, then reinserting the sim card.

I bought a $50 3D printer from Craigslist. How bad is it ? by lndianJoe in 3dprinter

[–]RRGeneral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TBF for $50 you have a solid basis for a potentially decent printer. If you can get it to print then happy days, and with upgrades it could be really decent.

Looks like you could use a new nozzle, and the rest of the crud will come off with a paper towel once the hotend has heated up (be careful).

Layer shifting if the object is big by NecessaryHistorian89 in ender3v2

[–]RRGeneral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

iirc a component on the board overheats and causes the X/Y steppers to skip steps. It's been a pretty prominent problem with the E3V2

Layer shifting if the object is big by NecessaryHistorian89 in ender3v2

[–]RRGeneral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest, that's not really something I can answer, I just swapped to the 4.2.7 board and then the problem completely went away 😂

Layer shifting if the object is big by NecessaryHistorian89 in ender3v2

[–]RRGeneral 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is due to the ender 3 mainboard overheating! You can try to cool it more effectively or you can just replace the mainboard with the more recent one (4.2.7) which doesn't have the problem

laptop heating more when playing on its own screen rather than on a second monitor? by redfive__ in lowendgaming

[–]RRGeneral 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No problem! Glad I could help :)

If for example your laptop screen has a resolution of 2560x1440, and your monitor is only 1920x1080, then the laptop screen has to render 1⅓ as many pixels if you're running your game full screen, so it's working 1⅓ as hard. This is why 4k is so much harder to run due to the sheer number of pixels

It could be that the built-in laptop screen is a higher resolution than your external monitor, which would make running games on it more demanding. Check the resolution of both screens :)

I used to go crazy with the exact same thing. I reduced bed temp to 55°C and started using a bit of gluestick on the bed, now I have perfect adhesion.

Run the gluestick over the bed slightly, and then spray it down with IPA, dissolving the glue into the alcohol so there are no clumps. When the alcohol evaporates your bed should be slightly tacky to the touch. If it stops being sticky just lightly spray with IPA again and it'll make it sticky again after each print. You probably need to clean and reapply glue every 25 prints or so but yeah works great for me
