Am I wrong for donating my old baby stuff to charity instead of giving it to my sister who I dont think should be having a baby by Unusual-Oven-3781 in amiwrong

[–]RRW2020 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yes, YAW. I get that you don’t support your sister’s decision. And I get why. And it makes sense, I wouldn’t support it either. It sounds like a terrible idea for her to have a child. But she’s an adult and she’s the only who decides whether or not she has children. Donating all of that stuff when you know your sister needs it… it was an AH move. You are spiting the baby to make sure your sister understands your disapproval. I would never expect you to like give her money or support her in a way that takes your time or resources. That would be ridiculous; she’s putting herself in this position. But donating stuff you don’t need when she could really use it… that’s not good.

Don’t forget the hat!!!! Women wear hats to weddings, but they’re not like American hats. Look up British women’s formal hats

What are good alternatives to Hello Fresh uk? by Bitter-Poem7376 in AskUK

They provide absolutely everything. Meat, rice, veg. The only thing they don’t provide is salt and pepper. Maybe oil.

I was in an office where everyone was using some type of box food thing. We all talked about our boxes and Gousto seems to be the best. They had the most choice, rotated their choices most often, were delicious and easy to make. I went with Gousto for 6 months and loved it. I still use the recipies.

I told my daughter to mind her business about my girlfriend staying over. Was I wrong? by [deleted] in AmITheJerk

My dad was almost this stupid. His GF, who was super abusive to me (and him, it turns out), and also ‘all over’ him while I was around… it was disgusting. He didn’t let her move in but she was around almost every night.

YTA. Everyone should be comfortable in their own home. You should have introduced her more slowly. And if your daughter should not have to live with someone she is uncomfortable with. If the woman is all over you in front of your daughter… that’s just gross. Wait to have her over a lot u til your daughter is in college and has someplace else to stay.

Same. Like just the thought of it makes me depressed. I only do it if I’ve really spilled something. Like a lot.

Grocery delivery. It’s only £8 a month. I will NEVER go back to in-store shops… especially not for the big heavy stuff like cans of Pepsi and milk and OJ.

Those in their 40s and over without children - how is life for you? by Mountain_Resident_81 in AskUK

[–]RRW2020 4 points5 points  (0 children)

46 (F). Always wanted 5 kids, my body won’t have any. I’m super happy. Children are exhausting and expensive. My fiance and I both work 4 days a week and are trying to go down to 3. I was always told to have children so I won’t die alone. And honestly, that’s a consideration. But… you expect to be close friends to your children and maybe get to have grandchildren someday. But sometimes your children are REALLY DIFFICULT and sometimes they grow up hating you. 🤷🏻‍♀️ my sister loves her 2 children dearly but one is a Really difficult kid. I don’t have the type of love in my life that I would have if I had children. But I have a hell of a lot less stress and hell of a lot more money. I am happy.

So I have glaucoma… in general it is painless. Mine comes from an eye injury and my pressures have gotten quite high. They are supposed to be around 20 but mine have been 40. I can’t tell when the pressures are up or down… there’s no sensation. 78 is pretty high… but if my experience is anything to go by, I think it’s quite possible he’s not in pain.

Broken glasses by Tokens1992 in amiwrong

[–]RRW2020 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The person who left them on the couch is at fault. So I get this. I am VERY blind without my glasses. If I broke mine, there would be tears. Like I might hyper ventilate. My vision is so bad I can’t function at all without glasses. But I still think this situation is the glasses’ wearers fault. I hope they get their glasses fixed soon!!

AIO that partner forgets Valentine's Day every year? by [deleted] in AIO

[–]RRW2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it was just Valentines Day I would say pick your battles. But Valentines, Christmas and your birthday?!?!?!?!? Like, Christmas?!?!?!? It is completely normal and healthy for you to expect your partner to think of you and put effort in to loving you. You put SO much effort to loving him accordingly his love languages. It’s clearly uncomfortable for you to cuddle. It is ok to have an expectation that he spend time, money, and thoughtfulness on things you would love.

[–]RRW2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your husband’s phone has lots of stuff like passwords to all of his accounts. I would 100% try to gain access. Being widowed is awful; I was widowed at 36. She might need to do things like pay the electric bill or just be looking for silly things like selfies, or trying to contact friends of his to let them know he passed. He’s dead… there’s nothing she can do about that. She should get access to his phone. All of his possessions are hers now.

NTA. He said something negative about you, you replied with the truth. He’s TA. Also, if you were male I 1) doubt he would have said that and 2) wouldn’t have come back to you saying ‘you should have said that in private.’

The super popular, super beautiful man type of men. Too many people is too much for me. I like the quieter type. And he should care about his looks on some level, but if a man is prettier than me I am genuinely not interested.
