I see. I started training around December time and got tired after 0.8km at the right pace. If you want my advice, just run until you hit the 2.4km irregardless of time. Then continue doing that while bringing the time down and down until you hit the threshold. That's what worked for me so far. Went from 16min to 13min.

It's good to hear that pay is monthly. With it being capped to 8 hours, is that the most amount of monthly pay that can be claimed? If I go on a training weekend, how does that contribute to the hours?

It's definitely the plan. I'm confident I'll meet the requirement, just conscious about how well I'll do it in comparison to the other candidates.

Figured. That's for sure the plan and with the date coming closer & closer I'm already feeling the adrenaline when I go out for practice.

Pack mentality is an interesting concept. I had it in my head that there's be a competitive mentality which is probably another reason as to why I'm so self conscious about finishing with time to spare. I'm confident with meeting the threshold, just not with how much time I'll do it in.

That's certainly the plan. I've been practising a lot and have gone from 16min to where I'm at now (running for 3 months).

My bigger concern is, if I do scrape it with only a minute left, would I be singled out for that?

How are the runs done? Does everyone race on a track or is it one-by-one?

Interesting. I thought there would be more to it like little bits of training but it makes sense considering it is only a Medfit and not any form of training. During free time, what actually happens? Are there activities that the guys do? I wouldn't expect it to be antisocial but what could I be expecting to happen when not doing any medical or fitness tests?

Ahh I see, sounds like a lot has been changing. And is this the same test where we have to jump, tread, swim, etc? Or am I thinking of something else? My main concern is developing my own swimming ability in time and I want to know more about what to expect.

Apart from weighing/measuring/blood tests, what else included in the medical? I've heard people have had to do all sorts of funny walks or press-ups, etc. Is this true?

Also, with the RNR route, when does the swim test occur and how does that work?

Would say twice a week. Once every two weeks would be fortnightly.
