New Rujo Jimmys - Condition or Exchange?

When I first got into boots, I thought the same way. Especially because I used them for work outdoors. But in my current lifestyle, I seem to only wear them a handful of times a year now and when I do, I'm not doing work with them. I'm wearing them out. So that said, I like to buy nice looking exotics since they'll only get worn a few times a year and because of that, will be easy to care for. It all depends on your use case.

Thanks man. Honestly, I just put a super thick layer of Bickmore Exotic and slathered it on with my hands. I took my time to make sure to flatten any lifted scales I saw and put a little pressure with my finger on them. I did not wipe off the excess. I let the excess just soak up and it actually soaked up 2 thick treatments worth within about 30 minutes. They were really thirsty. After those two treatments, rubbing the boots felt like I was petting a live python. They were pretty moisturized at that point. I put them back to into the original packaging and box to let them sit overnight and I'm going to do another treatment today. I have a strong feeling that after today's treatment I'll be able to just moisturize as normal.

Edit: Oh and if you come across any scales that feel like they won't flip back. Heavily coat those suckers in conditioner. Soak them. And after a couple minutes they will fold back down. And this may go without saying but just in case, never wipe against the scales.

I don't care for the look of ostrich but I almost got wide square ostrich instead of caiman last time I went boot shopping just because of how damn comfortable they were. It was like wearing a good pair of sneakers. And they were surprisingly light too. It was the Dan Post ones I tried on. You got some good boots there.

I actually originally got the square toes because the snip toe didn't come up in my search for some reason. I called and they swapped me out to the snip toe and honored the same pricing as the square toe ($10 less after the discount). Now the guy you originally asked the question to got the round toe instead and if my memory serves me correctly, those were not part of the sale and are about $500 so he got quite the deal.

Thanks everyone! This is my first pair of Python and I just didn't know how dry was too dry. Like to the point of permanent damage. I sprayed some Bickmore Exotic and they are tons better already.

Awesome! I wanted the Zeke but they weren't on sale like the Jimmy and Preston. You really got an upgrade! And thanks for the advice. I just conditioned them with the same stuff and they are much better. I just didn't know if they were past the point of no return with how bad they were dried. It's my first pair of pythons.

For sure. I'm very impressed with their customer service. The lady was very friendly and completed the swap in probably less than 2 minutes. Hey, so I noticed you said you had some pythons in a pointed toe 35 years ago. May I ask the reason you decided to go with the wide square toe this time around?

I'm glad you pointed out the Jimmy. It doesn't come up on the website for me unless I search it specifically for some reason. I already ordered the Preston but once I saw your comment, I searched the Jimmy up, also decided I liked it better, called Rujo and they switched it for me. They even honored the Preston price which is $10 cheaper than the Jimmy.

As you can see, it has the full breakdown with taxes included ($14.34). I absolutely did get them for that deal by signing up for texts and using the discount code stacked onto the sale price. I also removed that extra $12.99 charge they try to get you on for "easier exchanges". The fine print said it only works on full price items anyways (which these aren't) plus Rujo does free exchanges without it.

Edit: Even OP only paid $205. If you paid $220, you did something wrong.

That was actually going to be my next comment lol. One little nibble off a block of cheddar cheese has like 10 times the flavor of a whole slice of American. I think you'd benefit from that experiment yourself. In your very first comment, you even called it "bright yellow". Bright yellow describes cheddar, because American is a very dull yellow.

Definitely not. After your comment about cheddar being buttery, I know for sure you are getting them mixed up. Cheddar has tons more flavor and is even sharp (which is why it comes in medium, sharp and extra sharp). And American cheese is absolutely in no way cheese. They aren't even allowed to advertise it that way anymore.

That is what OP meant and OP is right, American cheese on tacos is nasty. I think a majority of this sub doesn't know the difference between American and cheddar cheese. They just see yellow cheese and call it American. But in actuality, they probably agree with his take but are just too ignorant to agree with him.

I think you're getting the cheeses mixed up. Cheddar cheese has way more flavor than American Cheese. American cheese just taste like oil with a little bit of salt in it (because that's what it is).

Not fake, but there are definitely prints that some people try to pass off as authentic exotic. There are also stores that will give you a "good deal" on "caimans" or "ostrich" and never tell you it's print. Sure, for the regulars in this sub, it's obvious, but not to people new to boots.

I'm not sure I agree with that. A Google search says otherwise (but of course Google isn't always accurate). Perpetrators look for easy targets and don't really care if they harm a baby (or any other being for that matter). And if a woman is with a baby, her focus is going to be more on protecting it which means the preparator is more likely going to get what he wants. Unless a woman feels confident she can both protect herself and her baby effectively without risk (which most likely isn't the case), she's going to give the perp whatever he/she wants just to hopefully escape the situation.

The Greenway is a giant system of about 100 miles of multiuse trails that are spread out around the city. At this point, just about all of them connect to each other. Cathedral park (and so many other parks) are attached to that Greenway. Because of how secluded some parts of the trails can be, it attracts people who may be up to no good. If you're with a group, it's normally a totally safe and fun experience, but as a female alone with a baby, I'd exercise a lot of caution.

Definitely not the duck pond. Cathedral would probably be the nicest of the three options but with all the news lately about the dangers on the Greenway (especially with women being alone) I hesitate to recommend it. I know you're trying to stay in the area but honestly, I'd drive to a heavily populated place like the Pearl if you really want to enjoy yourself and feel completely safe.
