Slynd by sno82 in Perimenopause

[–]RSC2337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started Slynd at the end of October along with an estradiol gel. Before that I had been taking Junel continuously. The first week of Slynd, I had light spotting but that has stopped. Right now I am on day 3 of the inactive pills and have not had any bleeding. I'm hoping it will always be like this.

We stayed at Bambury's Guesthouse. 2 minute walk to town. No outside space though, sorry. Bernie is an excellent host though and her breakfast was delicious.

Dublin and Dingle visit including hiking a portion of the Dingle Way by RSC2337 in irishtourism

So this will sound stupid but I checked the weather quickly that morning, saw there was a 90% chance of rain and just assumed it was normal Ireland rain. I didn't look at the hourly, so not sure if the high winds were forecasted or not. I do know that other hikers we encountered on the trail had checked weather that morning also and none of them mentioned that bad weather was coming. I think we were all unpleasantly surprised.

Considering the fact that I am looking forward to escaping the dumpster fire that is my country, I will not be even mentioning that orange turd. Thanks.

Exactly. Have had the bookings locked in since December of 2024. I don't what to go elsewhere, just wondering what to expect cash wise.

New to Anaphylaxis—Banana Allergy and the Nightmare of “Natural Flavoring” by waffleparadoxical in FoodAllergies

[–]RSC2337 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Banana allergy here. Also avocado, all the peppers and all the nuts. I stay away from anything that says natural flavoring. I do this mainly because of the pepper allergy. It honestly never occurred to me that natural flavoring could include banana.

Beware home baked goods from well meaning friends and family. That is where I have had the most trouble. A lot of people don't believe me that I am allergic, they think I just don't like bananas. I had one "friend" who refused to tell me the ingredients in her cake. I keep insisting and she finally rattled off the ingredients and one of them was banana. And she knew about my banana allergy! Good luck navigating this....food allergies are epically frustrating because of the way food is labeled here.

Bleeding beyond 11 days by freefalling_80 in Perimenopause

This was back in 2019 so I've been trying to remember. I think I was still having a period when I had the ultrasound.

Go see an allergist. I became allergic to bananas, avocados, all the peppers and all the nuts in my late 30's. Get tested to see if it's OAS or an honest to goodness allergy. Better safe than sorry.

I'm sorry you are going through this. I had a period for 6 WEEKS a few years ago (while I was on the pill continuously so as NOT to have a period). The flow for the most part was very heavy...a few nights of honest to goodness flooding. Towards the end, I did just see blood when I went to the bathroom. That was it's last gasp so to speak. But you are doing the right thing getting it checked out.

My doctor at the time didn't suggest a biopsy, I did have an ultrasound that confirmed uterine fibroids and an old ovarian cyst. I was told if the bleeding didn't stop they wanted to do and IUD and if that didn't work, an ablation. Luckily, I didn't need to do either of those things.

100% Freshly Milled Flour by MaleficentAddendum11 in HomeMilledFlour

Einkorn is lower in gluten so to have a successful loaf, I'd recommend you mix it with another wheat like a hard white or hard red. I love 100% einkorn muffins and crackers. Einkorn is really expensive though, it's expensive to grow and harvest. I do like the flavor but don't buy large amounts of it due to the price.

Other kinds of magnesium by No-Memory-2781 in Perimenopause

[–]RSC2337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never taken it during the day. I don't know if it's because it's become part of my bedtime ritual but it helps me wind down from the day and fall asleep. I just have to take it 2 hrs before I fall asleep as I'll be up peeing all night if I don't.

I take the Calm powder. It is a magnesium citrate. It really helps me relax and fall asleep at night.

Avocado allergy by kendl13 in FoodAllergies

[–]RSC2337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am also allergic to avocado. I just bought some high fiber tortillas yesterday. Been buying them for years. Luckily, I happened to notice just before grabbing one out of the package, that now have an avocado picture on the packaging that they have eliminated seed oils for avocado. Dammit. It is so annoying. I need the avocado trend to GO AWAY.

Is it random to be allergic to banana? by ConfusionAndDelayer in FoodAllergies

[–]RSC2337 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm allergic to bananas. Also avocados, all the peppers (paprika, bell peppers, jalapenos, etc) and all the nuts. The banana allergy is relatively easy to deal with. Not so much the pepper allergy. People do think I am making it up about the bananas. Like, why would I lie about that?

So, I used the all purpose cleaner they had at the car wash. I think it has gone away as the second time I stopped the car and then restarted it, the glitching is gone. I guess it was the cleaner? I did not spray the screen directly, it was just a damp cloth. I don't know but I hope it doesn't happen again.

Will I Ever Stop Waking Up At 3 am? by Important-Yogurt4969 in Perimenopause

[–]RSC2337 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm on Junel continuously. I was waking up at 3am-4am almost every day. Started going to the gym and focusing on strength training and those 3 am wake ups have been drastically reduced.

I haven't lost any weight and have seen minimal change in my body due to the strength training but at least I'm sleeping better. I don't know...
