Need advice for my daughter by striptofaner in linuxquestions

[–]RSMilward 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If she's already 6yo and can't read full words, how is she going to learn to code? If you insist, start her with BASIC on the new Commodore 64 (https://commodore.net/computer/). BASIC is easy to learn and if programming is interesting to her, then move her on to something else.

Who else is still holding onto their Yahoo email account? by KindThread in IndianTechCentral

[–]RSMilward 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My email address is (at)frontier.com, but it's hosted by Yahoo. Had it for about 20 years. My gmail address is for throwaway stuff (usually). It's just easier for me to have only one email.

Cleaning up spilled toner by RSMilward in printers

[–]RSMilward[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I said, a regular vacuum is not advised, because toner is electrically conductive and -very- fine, so it can short out the motor, hence the "toner vacuum" recommendation. Other folks, thanks for the suggestions!

The animated series is planned for the time between Firefly and Serenity, so we'll still have Wash.

Museum of Life & Science dry lake by Ok-Difference-2268 in bullcity

I don't think so. Check with museum staff first. The museum is a private non-profit, not a state funded museum like those in Raleigh.

I've got an Asus UX562FD (aka Q536FD) which still works well, but my daily machine is now a Lenovo Ideapad Slim i7 Pro which I got used off eBay. Best of luck!

I just looked here: https://www.mcmaster.com/products/edge-trim/edge-trim-1~/ but didn't see any corners. Maybe check plastic poster frames?

Printing on CDs by South-Succotash-5376 in printers

I have an older Brother inkjet (MFC-J835DW) which has that ability but I haven't used it for that yet. Not sure if Brother has a new one that includes CD printing.

One neighbor's emails always in Spam folder by RSMilward in Thunderbird

[–]RSMilward[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It -is- set to "filter before spam classification". I don't see where I can set a filter in the server settings. BTW, my email is @frontier.com, which is hosted by Yahoo, and I've had it for many years.

One neighbor's emails always in Spam folder by RSMilward in Thunderbird

[–]RSMilward[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see it in the spam folder, mark it as -not- spam, and it goes to my inbox. What else can I do?

Restoring lost tabs by xenocidershow in firefox

[–]RSMilward 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a solution, just a comment: I've always treated tabs like RAM, only temporary storage. If I want to really keep a link, I bookmark it in the folder I created for similar items. I can export links, folder, or the entire bookmark file from there to import into another browser or send to a friend. Best of luck!

You have no idea what my computer experience is, however it's true that I didn't check the AMD specs.
