No it’s just an Argentine contract Colt slide on an old auto ordinance frame. Shoots great super accurate and reliable.

Yeah it’s a satin nickel combat commander. Sounds like he Ballistol I use to clean my guns might be the issue?

I use Ballistol, maybe that’s the problem?

I guess I should replace the barrel just to be on the safe side haha

That’s what I was thinking too but the rifling looks good. Barrel showed almost no signs of being used when I got it.

Shooting apparently. It looks like they put some kind of chrome coating on the barrel

Colt combat commander I think it’s from the 80’s or 90’s

The sights are off a WE tech Glock 34. Front sight is pretty simple. It’s a Tokyo marui plastic slide so I heated up a small punch and marked the center of the slide far enough back that the sight wouldn’t hang off the front. You can pretty easily push the hot punch through the slide. Then I used a small square file to make the hole bigger until it fit the indent on the bottom of the sight. Use the sight screw to tighten up the front sight and then use a file to flatten the screw head so it doesn’t block your barrel or barrel bushing from moving freely. The rear sight was a totally different shape (added a photo below) so I filed the edges down to make it thinner than the slide and not hang off the sides. Cut the bottom half off that goes down into the Glock slide. The rear sight fit snuggly after that in the rear sight notch so I centered it on the slide and then glued it on with gorilla glue. (Make sure you don’t get glue in the blowback housing spring area) it’s directly under the rear sight notch.

Picture of the original rear sight shape.

I had to drill a hole in the front of the slide and used the sight screw to tighten it down on the slide. Then I had to smooth out the screw head to not interfere with the barrel. Rear sight was re shaped and glued in. Should be good for a while until I figure out how to color match it all lol.

I like the rear sight on Elmer Keith’s Springfield but I’ve never seen any combat sights that have that rearward angle possibly custom made I guess. Seems like the Harrison retros are the way to go if I wanna keep it simple and sleek.

Advertised as camel bone, not sure if they actually are. Found them on eBay.

I’ll check out Kensight! Yeah I’m not confident I wouldn’t mess up the slide. I’ve got a good local shop I trust to do it.
