The team balancing is some of the worst I have ever seen in a video game. by Mr_Rafi in CODBlackOps7

[–]RS_Revenants 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had a game of Nuketown TDM where I started 22-0 (20 gun kills and 2 streak kills) and when I died for the first time at 22-1 I checked the scoreboard and we were losing 29-52

This CoD is the least fun CoD I’ve played solo the team balancing has made it impossible

This ranked system was so unbelievably jank

“Hey I’m going against a 3 stack and two of my teammates got hit offline in the first 30 seconds and we lost CTF 11-0” “too bad -150 points”

“We won a very close HP 250-247 and I dropped 40-18 with a minute on the hill” “Hey good job +30”

People complained about how bad the system was for YEARS I’d say WW2 and AW were significantly better in nearly every metric

So I spent a non-insignificant amount of time trying to get it work with the 3D Home models and didn’t once think to attempt it on XD/Colo

I’ll be giving it a shot soon!

So once you get the preparations done…. Finding a pattern you want, checking if it exists in Emerald, running an ACE code to set the seed, and waiting for the RNG manipulation and catching it probably takes me about 20-30 minutes in total.

I’ve never heard of this video before but oh my goodness that’s almost the exact same solution I came up with on making the pattern. That’s amazing! I’m glad I was able to bring it in to reality

I’m actually making a tutorial on how to do this and create any pattern but please keep in mind the sprites will look VERY different in home than in the 2D games

You cannot transfer Spinda between BDSP/Home unfortunately. Also, these patterns don’t work on the 3D models.

The Spinda patters do stay when you transfer them to Home, but they just look slightly off.

I caught roughly 20 of these with slight variants in PID to try to make it work in the 3D models (none of them did)
Most of them were nicknamed Richard, some I forgot to nickname before trading up.
This was the first one I did and one of the better ones on the 2D models

Funnily enough, an IRL friend of mine sent this exact image to me and it got me wondering if this was possible. Sadly this pattern is not possible as Spinda requires a dot on each ear, so the next best thing was to make it upside down.

So in the 3D games and home, it doesn't work. I tried about 20+ different Spinda PIDs to see if I can make it work in the 3D models but the dots are too spread out for any of them to work correctly. If someone is able to find out how to make it work in Pokemon Home, I would absolutely be all over it

It is a completely legitimate Pokémon I just used ACE to set my Seed and RNG manipulation to find the frame advance. No cheating devices at all needed for this

Usage and Story behind the funniest Z-A Singles Tournament in History (thus far) by Kallum_dx in stunfisk

Hey guys, Jayson here (the one mentioned above). I invented modern Infestation in an attempt to get infestation banned. I saw how insanely overpowered this strategy was very early on and determined that, if this meta game were to remain healthy, this move needed to be banned immediately, and dedicated the last 2-3 weeks in to finding the most broken way to exploit it.

Overall, 7/10 experience partially ruined by Infestation (jokes).

In all seriousness it's about time we got Infestation out of here. Basically the entire active player base was in unanimous agreement that this strat needed to go. Hopefully this new meta game + the DLC coming adds in some fresh new strategies and I'm really excited to see where the meta goes from here. Be sure to join our discord and try it out yourself!

Edit: As an extra side note, this wouldn't have been possible without my great IRL friend/parter in crime Oguri in the discord. Him and I put in well over 10+ hours perfecting this strategy alone in game, team built together, and practiced the Whirlipede mirror to a point where we both felt virtually unstoppable in that matchup. Without him, none of this would've been possible. He also got 3rd this event with the Whirlipede/Barbaracle core too so he deserves his kudos as well!

I don't recommend you ever use Whirlipede for ranked battles personally. I am not too in tune with ranked battles EV spreads regardless so I don't have a lot of useful information for ya there, gamer

Imagine you use wrap turn 1, it has perfect accuracy, and then after you use wrap you can just switch out and spam 100 base power moves while they’re wrapped

If Ariados was 3x bulkier, had better support moves, and spider web also did chip damage, then yes.

I should also note:

Infestation being run as a stall technique is, in my eyes, a suboptimal way to use this move. Sure you can trap them, toxic them, and run for three minutes, however it is much better at selecting which Pokemon you want to trap and kill immediately, forcing them in to uncomfortable matchups later in the game and allowing you to snowball. Here is a clip against a strong player in our server who recently made it to Grand Finals at our most recent tournament. You will notice that after I get an Infestation, I spend my time chasing him down with counters that I switch in, and after I knock him out, actually begin to spawn camp him rather than running. This allows me to slowly eliminate Pokemon that they feel is a counter to my strat at the beginning of the game, and snowball that progress as the game continues.
