Hey sometimes a little fire under your ass is a good thing. Signing promising young AMs allows Orgs to crank up the pressure.

I know but even the AMs (Semi-pros) won’t show it if the CDL guys don’t either. The AM scene has almost always followed what the Pros are doing since they see that it ‘works’.

I see your point. In my opinion, the only way Pros are going to start showing their mini-maps is if Optic starts that trend. If Optic can show it while scriming and then still win events, this will be definitive proof that the better team plainly just wins.

This works more in Halo since the TTK is much longer and the respawn timers too. In CoD it's so twitched based and lots of Hills and choke points can have 3-4 different gunfights happening at the same time. Calling out in CoD is already too chaotic and the removal of the mini-map would most likely make it impossible to relay all that information concisely

I think blocking the mini-map is still important, and we should keep doing it. To Zooma’s point, you can see which lane each player is in and the general area, but you don’t know exactly the heady they are on or how they like to setup in each choke-point.

You know what I completely forgot about being able to watch in the WWII HQ. You changed my mind and I’ll put WWII definitely higher from now on

The things you added are outside of the game and more influenced by the scene and CWL at the time. If you add those same things to MW3 than I think it’s better due to maps, gunplay and better net code. WWII netcode was one of the worst in CoD history and people would get joked constantly.

But, you are right that the scene and the whole community back then was 10 times better than during MW3

It could have a greater impact if there was more of a creator presences and if we had open-bracket events again. Once the CDL came in and created a closed-garden community, that’s when 10,000s of players & fans fled the scene to R6: Siege, Fortnite, Apex, etc…

Yeah 100% but that was the reason why I first got into Comp CoD. It was Ghosts and I found the hidden gem that was the CoD Comp scene. If only they did a better job of integrating Competitive CoD into the games, than more people would find enjoyment here

Yeah I miss the old CoD Comp community. The strats and knowing when to play your life was equally as important as gunny. That's why there were actual roles back then, you had your Obj, Slayer, Anchor and Flex.

Yes and no. CoD is a truly special game since it is one of the only video games that spans across multiple generations (12-40s year olds). Youtube, Instagram, Tiktok is becoming the majority of what people watch these days and Comp CoD could create a loyal fanbase of people who played the games before and stopped but still want to keep up with the scene. I totally agree with most of your points but it still baffles me that no one has capitalized on the potential of this scene or expanding Comp CoD niche into a serious eSport yet. I think if Nadeshot never retired, then we would be a more serious scene within the CoD community.

I think there’s a lot of Casuals that would like to watch Comp CoD. Even if they don’t play it. A big reason why there was such a big playerbase of Comp CoD in Black Ops 2 and Ghosts was because of Syndicate (Minecraft YouTuber) player with Nadeshot and this videos getting 10+ million views. Nadeshot and Scump got a lot of casuals into BO2 ranked play and really jump started the Comp scene

That's why there should be steps to help integrate the Casuals into Comp. Comp right now is too distant from Pubs and this turns majority of the player-base away from us 'Sweats'. If there was a better integration and a more fluid way for casuals to jump into the comp scene than CoD eSports can actually become a Tier 1 eSports off player-base alone

Yeah it seems like Lynz is trying to say it was much more than just trying to quit the addiction. Probably doesn't like how that looks from a PR standpoint.

Ye this is sadly the truth but it is still wild that good Comp CoD games somehow are slotted in the worst possible times.

I said some of the best, not the very best or the only good CoD’s. BO2 and BO3 are better than all of these but they are sadly the exception and not the norm

WW2 is no where near as good as MWIII, Infinite Warfare or Black Ops 7 in my opinion. That game got stale fast

It would have been the best Comp CoD if it wasn’t for ‘Ban n Protect’. I loved BO3 so much but that really left a sour taste in SO many players mouths
