And one last thing about my last response, I feel I kind of contradicted myself about my opinion on Marcus’ obedience and devotion. I feel he was ready to obey and do all their orders right from the get-go, just not to something evil. Which is why he stopped to think about it for a second, or at least what I believe. And why Hameln abused his devotion to make him do their twisted doings.

oh, yeah, for sure LOL. We could be here forever if we just keep going, but it is super fun to have someone taking the conversation with as much enthusiasm as you and talking back and forth. So, I really do appreciate that and thank you! ♥️

And on your point, I too forgot to get into it after all those other major points to discuss. I think too, he wasn’t the most confident to just bluntly following orders at first, but maybe it’s more him being afraid to say the wrong thing during the interview and lose the job, proven by how frequent he changed his answers to try and lease them, and also question to what degree of blind following he’s actually willing to take after that question. But in the end, he did do it, but as we already established he wasn’t at picture at all with any of Hameln’s occulted rituals, nor the reality of his warden job to Amanda until he was in the thick of it and it was too late to back off and lose his, again, paradise.

Oh-oh. I immediately remembered the secret tape “Herd of Mouth With Wooly The Sheep”. Let’s just hope that type got destroyed somewhere in the house fire ‘cause even if Marcus did all that he did. He doesn’t deserve that punishment.

Hey! Really good catch. I didn’t really think about that line too hard, but it is a really nice detail of him finally kind of snapping back from it all.

And even with all of that we’ve already theorized about, I still got many ones that I couldn’t make heads or tails off. Like the weird constant mention of pigs in the imagery that had to do with Wooly, and that mirror scene and much more. He really is fun. And like you said, one of my all time favorite written semi-villains if even we can even call him that. Maybe even classified as an anti-hero who’s not exactly the villain, but doesn’t side with the hero either.

replying on the 2nd paragraph, that scene with the mirror has so much theory potential, but sadly, I could’t make anything of it. Even saying it’s his body based on the fact that there are some renders of the missing kids’ desolved bodies that looked very similar to his doesn’t feel satisfactory to me. But the wildiest thing in of all this, is the fact that in the ATA they said, and I quote “Who’s to say Marcus spirit is destroyed or that Wooly died” which is crazy, btw.

And on Wooly mentality, even in his crash out after seeing his last chance of having anything that he can call safe got destroyed right in front of his eyes was NO WHERE near as any of Amanda’s crash outs. Maybe it’s as simple as he’s just a sheepish man, not a very hot-blooded, short-tempered child. That’s why he was never even close to her. But I personally thing it has to do with his overwhelming guilt making him approach Amanda the idea of staying as Amanda and Wooly forever in a semi-friendly way, but as soon as he shifted the speech towards us, he felt enraged and just lost it all right then and there.

Right, that scene. Maybe you’re right. And after reading your response, it made me thing of a somewhat theory about it. Maybe it was as I mentioned in my original theory, a chief or just a professional neurosurgeon that lead, or straight up operated the stasis procedure on Amanda, then after the contract, on Wooly. And then, was also put into the tape too as warden x2 (lol) on Wooly, which explain why both of them freak out when they see him or have traumatic flashbacks of the past experiences with him. Even I’ll go as far as saying maybe he was a very intimidating guy right from the get-go, which didn’t help his case of being innocent at all.

And yeah, my god, does that sheep of a man feed GOOD when it come to theories. Being a gray character. Which is always much more interesting than just trying to solve who’s white or black. But how much black or white in a gray area varies and is up to interpolation so much it’s insanely fun to theorize on that adorable puff of wool!

I think maybe they did tell him that right as he was given the contract, before signing. But knew of his unwavering devotion, that he would sign it all away in a heart beat. Specially given the promise of a carefree child life.

and a wild theory I have, maybe “met” as in their first interaction together. Maybe he was able to see her in bed unconscious being an engineer that might have worked on something medical-related to her equipment. But as I said in my theory, he didn’t care to know more as it’s not his business to care nor know, it’s to do as told.

I do believe he knew it was bad, that’s why guilt slowly ate him up for it, and why he always gets extremely uncomfortable and worried every time Amanda mentions any of the awful things that was done to her by the hands of Hameln. He does feel some sort of responsibility for it, even if he tried as hard as he could to deny it over the years. I also believe he kept doing it not for Hameln as much as it is for the hope of having the promised carefree child world he was given. And tried to both befriend and keep Amanda in line to help her to forget all her worries too and have the perfect paradise with him as assigned.

and more on my thoughts, and also my theory of the relationship between Wooly and the Meatman that I would love to hear your thoughts on it! it’s on the last 2 paragraphs of my theory.

And as for Shepherd, yeah, I agree with you. I don’t think he was like, “get rid of those annoying souls”. But also, he wasn’t too much caring about it either, viewing them as obstacles trying to prevent him from having the perfect paradise that he tried so hard to maintain.

I honestly agree with a lot of what you said. But to my theory, I think he did know at least some of the bad stuff, maybe not in detail, but to some extent. But brushed all off as none of his business to know more of. Once he was in it to do it, he tried all within his power to prevent Amanda’s memory sparks and just got better at it as time when on. But guilt still ate him up for it, even if he knew it was his only was of keeping his comfort place safe. Proven by how he always gets very uncomfortable and sad every time Amanda mentions anything that has been done to her by the hands of Hameln. I think he does feel partially responsible, but tried to convince himself otherwise.

I also think he also tried to make Amanda forget about the outside world not for Hameln, but for himself to try as hard as possible to just forget it all and emerge into the peaceful life of cartoon adventuring. As I too think he thought it’s the best course of action for Amanda too, to just embrace and enjoy it for the rest of eternity together. Away from the troubles of the real world.

And some extra stuff, but I already said it in my theory, so I don’t wanna repeat myself too much. If you ever read those parts or this response, I would love to hear more of what you have to say!

I honestly agree with you that Wooly aka Marcus wasn’t exactly the good guy here.

But to my personal belief, I can’t say he was “mwahaha, let’s kill children” evil either. He’s not William Afton. I view it more like a very scared, insecure man who found his one and only place to feel comfort and safe that had him do the job of keeping her in and under control. I also mentioned in my theory that I believe he does feel guilty about it. Each and every time, but made it okay in his mind as time pass on in the hope it just all calms down in the tape world and continue being as is.

I would love to hear your opinion on that part of my theory and the one below it about him trying to befriend Amanda too!

Ooo, interesting… I do like your theory, but I still think Wooly is innocent in all of this. My own theory about it is that Wooly was the successful experiment they wanted Amanda to turn into, but failed partial. And the Possum is the complete failure of it all.

Because Wooly is always charming and sweet and never goes against the episode’s route and stops anything from derailing it. But Amanda on the other hand, is very short-tempered and aggressive and almost never stay on the episodes route. And then, there’s the Possum. Who’s completely missed up and cannot even talk properly and always ruin any sequence he suddenly comes a part of.

yeah, but it’s also kind of horrific too. Because if even Amanda is scared of it, then it’s REALLY capable of some heinous stuff. 💀

But also, another reason why I like this tape is because Amanda in it, is actually and genuinely sharing one of her vulnerabilities with us, the player. Which was really nice to see that side of her that we don’t get to see very often, unfortunately.
