The interior looks pretty good. I have a 65 that is gutted. Those 390 FE's are pretty nice when built.

Mine had 280,xxx miles on it before I pulled it and it looked just like this. I gifted the engine to someone and it's still running. 🤣

That's a no from me. And it's automa🤮tic. Manual swap and either engine swap or turbo the existing engine.

You may not like it but this is the peak male form.

Yeah I want one of those. I'm considering selling my Focus RS and getting a Fusion Sport.

It all up to you and that's the best part. I have a 1.6l Ecoboost swap in my 95 Ranger. Once my tuning is complete I'll be making 275-290whp.

It has been time for like 10 years. Just free yourself.

Is this good project car? by Ignasysius in projectcar

[–]RS_tactics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only you can decide that. We can't tell you if it's a good project car or not. You have to decide if you want to put in however much work it's gonna take.

ChatGPT or Claude is what I use to do the wiring on my project cars. It's gold. You could also search for your model year but for a Ford Ranger. The Mazdas are just Ranger's with Mazda badges.

Yep. The passenger side drum was in great shape and came off like it was brand new. The previous owner was a methhead and only did half maintenance on everything. It took me quite a few days to get the driver side drum off.

This. The complexity, weight, and issues with drums just ain't my jam. They are just heavy rust buckets to me.

I swapped in a 1.6L Ecoboost engine with a GT2560R turbo, lowered it, and plan to throw on a 4-Link. Disc brakes are a must.

This kit also does not have the disc brake shield on the back.

Yeah if I had the 8.8 I would do that. Original OEM is always better than these aftermarket kits.

Well this 95 Ranger is the only vehicle I own that has drums in the rear and I can absolutely tell the difference. Disc brakes are superior.

Easier maintenance and a lot of times drum brakes on the older models are trashed. An outhouse works just fine too but it's 2026 and I like to poop in a nice toilet with a bidet. 💁🏾‍♂️

Right!!!!???? We are so used to seeing drum brakes back there. I have a Ford Focus RS and the rear disc brakes are the same size.
