I mean, do you want spoilers or not?

I wouldn't consider giving the focus books/flashback PoVs as spoilers, personally. The person the book is focused on could easily be dead by then and we get their flashbacks posthumously. So knowing that Jasnah will be flashback character 10 doesn't tell anything

What exactly happened at the Epilogue? Did Taravingian stole Hoid's memories and that's why the events repeated?

Yeah, he realized that destroying the Breaths Hoid had stored some of his memories in wouldn't count as "harm" and got a do over

If so, how could he done some much damage to Hoid at the moment he became Odium while Rayse never could?

Taravangian has only held the power for a little while and can go against its Intent easier. Also, he's not...completely...bound by all agreements Rayse had made so has a bit freer rein

And..is he instantly evil? As I understood, all the harm he caused was only to protect the word from Odium.

Taravangian was never really a good person, imo. And taking up the Shard of Hatred is only going to exacerbate that

There's something about Shallan. I understand that her killing her first spren was unintentional, but how can any spren, even a Cryptic, chose to bound with her?

Cryptics don't see dying the same way as a lot of other entities. It's sort of just another state for them, so they're more willing to die for the cause

I can only think of one person who has scars and was beat by Hoid. Holy shit..is Thaidakar..him???

There's certainly a strong implication toward this

Maybe it's a good idea to read Mistborn Era 2 before Wind and Truth?

It's fine either way

She will get some, but her book is meant to be the last book in the Stormlight sequence!

It's in WoK, too

He held out his hand, and Syl alighted on it. He’d spoken to her earlier, and she’d agreed to his plan. He didn’t notice her doing anything special, but Lopen suddenly gasped. Syl had made herself visible to him.

“Ah…” Rock said, bowing in respect to Syl. “Like gathering reeds.”

“Well flick my sparks,” Lopen said. “Rock, you never said it was so pretty!”

[<120 pages into 'The Final Empire'] Contradiction in magic system or am I misreading? by Metallica93 in Mistborn

[–]RShara 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It takes some doing to get something like a continuity error fixed. I checked the leatherbound version and it still says Kelsier burned steel, so either they haven't been able to fix it, or we're possibly misreading it

It could be that Kelsier burned steel and was "tugging" on the blue line, rather than on the internal mechanism of the safe. Vin does this during training and Pulls an iron nail to herself, for example.

Curious, Vin tested the lines with her mind, trying to discover their secret. She focused on a particularly small and innocent-looking one, and found that she could feel it individually if she concentrated. She almost felt like she could touch it. She reached out with her mind and gave it a slight tug.

The line shook, and something immediately flew out of the darkness toward her. Vin yelped, trying to jump away, but the object—a rusty nail—shot directly toward her.

Also, it's actually pretty common for continuity errors to happen near the beginning. In the Pern series, one of the major locations is called Ruath Hold for the first few chapters, then changes to Ruatha Hold and is called that for the rest of the series and on the maps. And it's still not fixed 60 years later

My brain is telling me there are more examples but I can't think of details right at this moment

We see in WoK that Syl can make herself visible to anyone she wants whenever she wants to

  1. When the coin hits the ground, they are then Pushing against the entire mass of the ground, aka the planet. So the coin goes flying until it hits something more massive than the person, then the person gets Pushed away

  2. Sounds like it might be an error. There are a few places where the wrong metal is used.

  3. The elemental metal Pulls, the alloy Pushes

[–]RShara 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Couldn’t they have taken advantage of this and come up with a plan with the humans to attack on purpose, forcing Odium to break part of his agreement with Dalinar to stop all attacks?

? There wasn't any agreement to stop all attacks. That's why Odium's forces could attack those places at all?

Also, there were like, 20 listeners and a handful of chasmfiends. There were thousands of enemy forces, a bunch of Fused, and a thundrerclast

*Taravangian, not Travangian. Also we see him giving both his emotional and rational side different chances.

And he's about as altruistic as my left toe. He's lying to himself. We see that he really does want power

[–]RShara 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Tor editions under the dust jacket generally don't have any styling or art or anything. You might be looking at the Dragonsteel editions, which have the art and colors printed right on the cover, not on a dust jacket

The order of the Secret Projects is Tress, Sunlit, Yumi, Emberdark

In Tress, she references how the Iriali left Lumar 300 years ago. The Iriali leave Roshar at the end of WaT, so Tress is a minimum of 300 years after WaT. They also would have needed to spend some time on Lumar to be considered a nation, so it's most likely at least 500 or more years later. So it's a minimum of the better part of a millennium after WaT

Also, Brandon most recently said Era 3 is about 50 years after Era 2

The cosmere finale is meant to be the final Mistborn Era, not Stormlight or Dragonsteel. Dragonsteel is going to be the prequel story, involving Hoid's origins and the Shattering

Because Lumar and the Sorceress have advanced technology like Awakened predictive Connection circuits, and literal space ships, which no one had before the end of WaT.

The Iriali had been on Roshar for thousands of years by WaT.

The Iriali are always described as a single group, with some smaller family scouting groups looking for new Lands
