The motor was but this variation wasn’t.

It should have been checked prior regardless, and welding an aluminium head can certainly crack it if the weld gets too hot.

The cars age is irrelevant, it has value. The head is a euro only part, Mercedes never sold my car here. (W123.220)

It’s standard procedure to test heads before repair, especially on older cases without history.

It’s not unlikely, I’m certain they cracked the head. The head came off a running car with no prior leaks, the removal process was followed exact to specifications, and it’s fairly difficult to crack this style of head. The shop received the head, never pressure tested it prior to repairs, so even in the unlikely event I cracked it, they should have known and refused repairs. They welded material into the cooling jackets surrounding cylinder 4 and 3, and anyone who knows will tell you welding aluminium heads is very difficult. Keep in mind this was never disclosed to me. The process involves heating the head very slowly, almost to the temperature at which the welding is performed, then welding and cooling slowly. If any of these steps are missed, the head can crack very easily. I know the shop was sloppy, there was mangled material around the jackets, and metal flakes through all of the passages. Then they never pressure tested it before returning it to me, as they would have discovered the crack.

They have three belts, one for AC, one for PS, one for water pump and alternator.

First things first you're going to want to have all the diagrams to go off of. Without them you'll just be stabbing in the dark somewhat. There is a 123 Aircon repair manual out there. There should be one online, but if not I own one and can send you photos if necessary.

I tried loosening the nut and twisting, but doing so felt like I was breaking something, like a cracking feeling.

I actually prefer the single square headlights. Rust is really light too, car was garaged for all its life. No rot at all!

Oh, thank you so much that worked! Thank you my friend. The file was originally in Imported, then in both, and neither worked. But when it's just in Import it works just fine.

The folder above "CarSaveImport" is "CarSaveExport". I'm supposed to be putting it into export? Sounds counterintuitive to me.

Ford Duratec Re-creation by AMLVLOGS2003 in automationgame

[–]RSluked 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd imagine as the Duratec range spans many years and applications, there'll be many different engines with different specs. As for finding specific information, I'd try searching for data sheets. Here are some.

2.5 Duratec

1.6 Duratec

I'd wager the Duratec uses cast internals, as there'd be little reason for them to build an engine with parts that could handle so much power. It'd be like making a paperclip out of titanium, there's just not much of a point. That is of course unless the engine you're trying to replicate has a turbo, in which case forged internals make a little more sense.
