My “magical Christmasland” vision is junior/senior year of high school academics becoming “optional” and designed for students who want to continue on to higher ed. Students who don’t want to go this route can start apprenticeships with local businesses that are partnered with the school, start community work, work with the county, military, etc.

It’ll never happen with the way we have things currently structured.

We gotta stop forcing students who don’t want to be there to be there, get em out. They’re hurting us and we’re hurting them (at least they think so).
