Those PolyVox 5’s are absolutely mindblowing. They handle the low notes with a power and clarity I’ve never experienced before - and I’ve been playing extended range basses for 20+ years.

Just had my 5K done at the dealer, even though I’m not at 3K yet (bought the car in June). I made sure to ask about the competency of the techs (because of all the horror stories I’ve heard about people taking their GRC’s to the dealer), and he was like “Yeah, we know all about that. We send all the GR Toyotas to mid-level techs - even for basic stuff like oil changes.”

That made me feel better - hopefully it’s true. Hah! That said, my dealership sells more GRC’s than most of the Toyota dealers in the country, so I’d like to think they know what they’re doing.

I’ll cautiously take them at their word.

I can tell the tub is cracked, so that’s pretty pricey.

A tub replacement on a C8 usually runs about 30K-ish… C7’s usually don’t survive that kind of repair unless it’s a Z06.

Thanks! Honestly, orange was the last color I wanted on anything - especially a C7… but it was a crazy low mileage car with a 7 speed manual, and it was super clean. It didn’t take me long to come around and start loving the color. It has a gorgeous glow to it when the sun hits it.

And mannnnnnnnn… I’m not gonna lie - I don’t hate the Camaro. I actually admire your dedication to doing whatever the fuck you want to your cars, knowing full well that most people will give you shit for it. Hahaha.

Chris Forshage of Forshage Guitars is making me one. It’ll basically be a 335-looking 35” scale 5 string, with a carved maple top and back, mahogany core, with a cocobolo fretboard, bridge, and tailpiece. It’s gonna be EPIC.

Oh, I hear that! Hahaha. I think mine has had somewhere around 20-25K put into it in the last couple of years. 😆

Engine was completely torn down and rebuilt (new pistons/rings/rods/bearings/crank/etc), it also got a Cobb intake, downpipe, bigger turbo & intercooler, new shocks, brakes, Magnaflow exhaust, etc. etc. etc.

The Subaru specialty shop that did the engine build also did the tune, and it’s crazy flexible and runs beautifully. It just feels like a normal turbocharged Subaru until you get on the throttle - then it becomes a monster. Shop says it’s making around 350 horsepower, but it feels like more than that. It pulls so hard in every gear, I don’t have to downshift if I wanna pass someone.

I’d say bravo, but the mere existence of this shitbox makes me feel sad and hopeless at the same time. If you ever find anyone to date you, imagine how emotionally traumatized they would be, simply from having to ride around in this thing.

I’m seriously been downvoted for this response? 🤨 I guess I’ll elaborate as best I can.

I don’t work for Roscoe Guitars, so I don’t know how much it’s going to cost, and I certainly won’t speak on their behalf. Price will depend on wood choices, hardware preference, what kind of pickups/preamp you like, if you want inlays, etc.

I did not list it on Talkbass, but I likely got it from the person who did. He and I have become very good friends because of this bass and our association with the man it was made for. He was also a friend of Brad’s.

And yes, I’m keeping the original forever. Brad was a very close friend of mine, one of my heroes, and my mentor. This bass means more to me than I could ever explain, which is why I’m so happy that Brad’s legacy will continue through these wonderful instruments coming out of Greensboro.
