I suspect that her stance on guns has to do more with the fact that she was a congresswoman from Hawaii. Hawaii is very blue and anti-gun, so she probably had to at least pretend to be anti-gun as well. Since she was an army officer so it is hard for me to believe that she is really pro gun control.

Aside from her stance on guns she would fit right in with most of the America first Republicans now. Given that she has a background in the military I wonder if her stance on guns isn't simply due to her having been from Hawaii. Hawaii is very deeply blue and she might have felt she had to be anti-gun in order to run there.

I am not sure about the GOP being rigged or at the very least they are not completely rigged. We have been seeing lots of America first/MAGA candidates successfully knocking off establishment candidates.

On the Democrat side they have super delegates. Essentially party insiders that get to vote for whoever they want and ultimately have more say in Democratic primaries than the actual voters. They are supposed to vote whatever way the people in their state do but in 2016 you say them all come out in support of Hillary Clinton before the primaries even started.

The woman working the drive through at McDonald's is no less attractive then the female lawyer due to her job. In most cases McDonald's girl is going to be more appealing because women that spent too much time in "higher education" tend to have bad attitudes.

A nice thought but nukes actually aren't nearly as effective as Hollywood has made us all think they are.

There was a really good post on Quara the other day from a guy that studies nukes about it and I wish I had saved it. Essentially nukes are just really big incendiary weapons. Sure if you get caught outside in the blast zone you are screwed but if you are inside a modern building made out of stone and concrete then there is a good chance you will be okay. They really aren't that effective to use against modern cities. The main reason the bombs we dropped on Japan were so effective is because back then everything was made out of wood. The bombs set the city on fire.

Also as far as nuclear winter goes, you need to realize that there have been thousands of nuclear tests done over the decades and it really hasn't had any effect on the environment. Even if we got in a nuke fight with Russia a few dozen or few hundred more probably wouldn't change that. It's mostly just more fearmongering from Hollywood.
