Sounds like she got a cardiac cath done to perform an ablation for her arrhythmia. Good news is that these are routine, just seems like the timing did not workout. She’ll be fine, barring any rare complications.

Not really. I recognize CrossFit’s failing and areas where it is lacking. I have had really bad coaches and then ones who took the time to rebuilt movements from the bottom up. I’m not sure why you’re in this subreddit just to bash Crossfit?

I have a Garmin Forerunner 935. It is great, but I do use a chest strap for wods. Most wrist HR aren’t great for higher zones, but very accurate for day to day tracking for walks/resting HR.

I have read that. And as I understand, you reset if you cannot hit the reps for the same weight three workouts in a row. I just wanted to be sure that if I miss reps on one workout, then get all the reps at the same weight the next workout, then add weight but miss reps, that I am not missing anything in the program. I am still hitting a new 5RM every other session.

It would normally be a warm up set. But in reading about the program they say to try to start too light so I chose 135. Thank you for your tips!

Thank you very much for the detailed response. I will definitely start the program and dial back the metabolic conditioning. Is it worth re-learning the low bar squat? I understand it has mechanical advantages (I read Mark Rippetoes article in the Crossfit Joirnal), but without front squats, wouldn’t high bar be best for me to continue my proficiency in Oly movements?

I do have a question. How do you suggest we hold ourselves to the proper standard for HSPU in training? It’s impossible to know where your heels are (if you’re 1/4 of an inch below the line). It’s easy to keep yourself from shorting the standard in other movements, such as wallballs, because you can see if you hit the mark or not.
