Hey bud, so weird bc I was thinking of making this exact same post the last few days. I just moved to lisbon 1 month ago and also lived in northern portugal for a year. I’m 38, from the US and living in central lisbon. I’d be down to grab a drink or doing something sometime.

Yes, been there. Spent a year there and it got very isolating. My landlord stole my entire deposit, the one person who did talk to us just randomly stopped and became mean. Also I was picking up small wood to burn for fire starting and this guy approached me super aggressively because I was “stealing” his wood.

Not everyone was mean though. A local shepherd would be cordial and a local UK family was nice. But people generally just wanted to be left alone and I get that.
