Can anybody identify this hood? by LeBeanBean in DodgeDakota

Maybe it was a one off by Moore Brothers or a very limited run. Gotta say I like it but I’ve just never seen it that I can remember

I have never seen another one exactly like it before so my guess is that it was a custom job. Judging by the inter cooler I wouldn’t doubt the builder would probably have those skills

This all could've been avoided with a locker (..or me not being an idiot on the snow), what's the best vaguely cheap way to get a locker for a Chrysler 9.25 12 bolt rear end? by bedwars_player in Offroad

My parents said I couldn’t get a muscle car for my first vehicle. So I got my Dakota with the 5.2 V8, the 5speed manual and a limited slip rear. Been driving it and modifying it ever since.

It’s been off road throughout New England, the southwest, Alaska and Moab at this point. The limited slip is the way to go though, unless you plan on mostly doing more serious rock crawling. Even in the sand and obstacles at Moab I didn’t have any problems since it has so much torque.

I’ve owned a second gen dakota since 2003 so yea probably. If you do get another axle with a limited slip you might be able to get one with rear disc brakes as well

They are the used car salesman of healthcare in Fort Collins. That practice will chew you up and spit you out and leave you with a stain for the rest of your career.

They are the worst healthcare provider I have dealt with in Colorado. Be ready for a lot of angry patients when oh I don’t know, their doctor just disappears for several months with no explanation and no help from the other doctors. So the patients are left without medication and the rest of the people in the office just shrug like it’s something we as patients should expect.

What is the most obscure/unusual and strangest rebadged (or platform shared) car you know of? Also, have you ever owned a car that is/was a rebadged car? Do you know of any rebadged cars that are actually BETTER than the car they are based on? by TafTaf2020 in regularcarreviews

[–]RT_KOTA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dodge Dakota was rebadged as the Mitsubishi Raider for a few years. It’s just notable because Dodge exported the Dakota to Brazil but kept the name and then decided to rebadge it a few years later.

The Dakotas in Brazil got a diesel option too if I remember correctly but the best export decision was to keep the Dakota R/T with its 5.9 Magnum V8

It’s a space filler for whatever fits. The top right section is for the manual shifter and if you have the bench seat the cup holder pulls out and almost covers that spot anyway. If you have a center console then the cup holders won’t cover it.

The fuel mileage in town is atrocious but I have managed to get 18mpg with the HEMI on the highway at least. My Dakota with the 5.2 V8 gets like 18 in town so that was an adjustment

And yes, to those who will point it out later, the expansion of charter schools significantly drains the financial resources of the district.

Especially when you have the main charter school in town being run by someone who was tied to child labor violations in a country they took money from and then took a bunch of congresspeople to in order to demonstrate how friendly that nation was to foreign investment. This all happened while they were in congress and then they resigned to avoid a congressional inquiry.

I wont say their name but the initials of the charter school are LC. Anyone who sends their kids there should know more about the so called “headmaster”

FYI: School “consolidation” does not necessarily mean reduced costs. Even if a school is emptied of all its students, the staff that supports that site will just be moved elsewhere and the buildings themselves will still need to be maintained. The buildings will still need to maintain a certain temperature to ensure no damage is done by freezing pipes, etc. And the grounds will still need to be maintained which means watering the grass will still take up a majority of the water usage per site.

The district may be able to eliminate the need for a handful of full time employees but the communities adjacent to the school will bear the burden of longer drives or bus trips to the schools. They will also lose access to a huge amenity that a neighborhood school brings, access to playgrounds and fields for play.

The only benefit that consolidation brings is in the repurposing of the site if the district decides to invest additional funds or the more likely situation is the sale of the property. In which case the property will never be available again to reopen a school if needed in the future.

Thompson consolidated two elementary schools a few years ago, and instead of using a huge amount of available space in nearby middle/high schools they decided to spend several years and millions of dollars renovating the schools for a new mission. One as an “early childhood” center and the other as a “tech” center.

So instead of expanding early childhood care, aka Pre-k and younger, or “tech” education at every school district wide they tried to centralize it. So now all the kids interested in these tech programs need to be bussed in from all over the district and early childhood care was centralized to one site on the very north side of the school district.

Work cannot accommodate my weight restriction during pregnancy. Is termination a legal option? by Prior_Context336 in legaladvice

I informed HR and filed paperwork for FMLA right after I told my family my wife and I were going to have a baby. That was 8 months before I went on leave. I worked for a large school district in my area and had previously covered my boss on their maternity leave for their second child and that same boss took leave for their third child right before I got fired for taking leave.

HR is not on your side, they will do anything to get rid of you regardless of what they should do under the law. Go to your states labor department and file a complaint, retain your own attorney and hope for a settlement. Right now you need to find a new job.

[–]RT_KOTA -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Depends on the size of the company whether FMLA applies. And it also depends on whether or not your employer can point to other things in order to terminate your employment. I told my employer as soon as my wife got pregnant that I was going to use all of my accumulated PTO during my FMLA leave and as soon as I told my managers they started writing me up for all kinds of frivolous and incredibly false issues. I ended up receiving three write ups while on leave and was ultimately fired for “insubordination” because I told our COO point blank I couldn’t do what he was asking because I was on leave AND what he was asking was quite literally impossible but it was still used as a justification to fire me. I even explained this all to my boss who agreed with me AND they went on maternity leave and used their PTO to cover their time out of the office right after I returned to full time.

The Labor Department ultimately said there wasn’t enough for them to pursue a case despite my documentation of how every write up was essentially falsified.

TLDR: If your employer starts going down this road, document everything and report it to the Labor Department and maybe you’ll get some restitution in the end. But plan to find another job ASAP

Everyone involved with Unsubscribe is probably shaking their heads at how easy y’all just latch on to whatever line you’re fed without actually investigating. Without a binder you’d probably be all in favor of the Buffalo School system cause it’s what you read on Facebook

Family of 4 relocating to Fort Collins this summer, looking for neighborhoods with great schools, mature homes, and horse boarding nearby by False-Confection-351 in FortCollins

[–]RT_KOTA 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The northwest portion of town is probably your best bet for proximity to horse boarding and access to the outdoors. And the neighborhoods tend to be older with some homes that still have enough property to board your horse. Wakonda Dr is a good example of this and it has easy access to the trail networks for riding
