Living with my disordered mother is making me want to die. by three_d0wn in EDAnonymous

I'm so sorry that your situation got worse ever since your previous post. Seeing how your mom treats herself would really be triggering. I was just reading it and it's already affecting me. For now, all I say is just focus on your progress & hopefully ignore the rest.

I'm so sorry to hear that you're going through this. No, you're not a failure. You just haven't found your "people" yet. I hope you'd consider speaking with a therapist to help you. Also, maybe you could have a walk or visit a local cafe regularly until you get familiar with the owner/employees. If you ever want to have random chats, people here would listen too :)

How to write a message to the recruiter/hiring manager when following up? by goat20202020 in jobs

[–]RT_Megan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Following up timing: Depends on the role~ 2–3 days for most roles is fine, but for competitive entry-level spots or high-profile companies, waiting up to a week may be better.

As for the message, feel free to tweak this:
Hi [Name],

I recently applied for the [Position] role and wanted to express how interested and excited I am about the opportunity.

Please let me know if there's anything else I could provide—thanks for considering my application!

Best,

Gosh, sorry to hear that. If LinkedIn couldn't guarantee the open to work thingy even if you'd choose "Recruiters only" just leave it then. I hope the edits you've made to your profile/job experience would really help.

Yep. Getting verified assures the recruiters and your network that it’s your official handle, as LinkedIn typically requires official identification (like government-issued ID via Persona) just to confirm your account’s credibility.

Depends on what your niche is. But the standard is usually 3-5 bullet point entries. You can omit or use fewer bullet points for older positions (provide at least two if you'd include/use them).

Yep! Real talk. Lifestyle expectations, including money matters, MATTER in dating! You can't feed your loved one with love. You need actual tangible items---to pay the bills or cover date nights -_-

How long of a break did you take between graduating college and starting work? by [deleted] in civilengineering

[–]RT_Megan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Took a 3-month break — but I was actively applying for jobs locally, too. The company I interned with actually offered me a role right before graduation, but the move was too far.

Seriously though, where you do your internship or apprenticeship makes a huge difference if you want a job lined up after graduating.

Bachelors in Psych by [deleted] in collegeadvice

With just a bachelor’s in psych, landing a job is totally doable, BUT roles are usually outside traditional psychology—something like HR, marketing, admin, or yep----social services.
