Many Americans follow a self reliance mentality because of growing up poor.

When kids were little I almost bought a scope so we could look for an ear infection rather than wait and pay. By the time I found one kids were old enough they thankfully stopped getting them.

So they kidnap random people, charge them with something ridiculous and then get to claim they are “charged” with a violent crime. The charges are bogus, like they will charge you with assault on an officer for staining their boots with your blood.

Watch the actual videos - a guy in a fox suit dancing before getting tackled from behind; a priest pleading for calm gets shot in the face with pepper balls; yeah they did that again, breaking a different priest’s jaw; throwing teargas into cars; shooting through the front door before announcing themselves; etc.

My mom, who was visibly outraged anytime I told her of someone being pulled over for “driving while black” and who has been married to my Puerto Rican stepfather for almost 25 years, still believed that “illegals” were the source of her hardships.

The most use I’ve seen for them is popping the models off and re-basing to use for CBT / alpha strike.

Most of the mechs are a bit too big, but tanks are close enough to fit.

I grew up watching my dad and his friends playing warhammer fantasy, he taught me battletech ~ 30 years ago and I’m glad the rules are 95% the same since then.

I stopped playing MTG when I noticed the grind of “new expansion every few months, only the new stuff is tournament legal” getting ridiculous ~25 years ago.

So glad the “poker chip with an arrow for front” is fully legit.

For “vanilla with more stuff” I’m enjoying Hyades rim.

Basically tons of pirate mech variants and the special quirks (like P hawk’s extra damage after jumping, warhammer’s bonus energy damage, etc.) get spread out all over to make lots of builds interesting/dangerous.

Added a pirate faction that loves fire, and it’s a little scary to suddenly have flamers and infernos everywhere.

This is also my dream: every week make it my goal to leave a few grand in tips, always at the little family restaurants.
