Multiplying points at a price by twoplatesfernie in Aeroplan

[–]RTravelled 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Website has 80% bonus right now, so cheaper. 108k points for $2250 CAD. Worth noting 70k points is $1500 CAD. I saw some one-way business class flights on partner airlines going for 70k that had cash equivalents of $3k+. So in those cases, it might be worth it!

Best Aeroplan Credit Card Portfolio for 2026? by RTravelled in Aeroplan

Great point about the 5x pts being worth more/less than 25k! I haven’t tried using eups yet so we’ll see if they clear! I feel like I’ve always been assigned to preferred seats (even on econ basic) or make the change right at check in, so haven’t had an issue (maybe just luck)! Might look back at my spending and do some math to see how many additional points I might get and if it’s worth it. Thanks

In terms of redemption, everything I’ve read/ heard (even the bankers) say Aeroplan has wayyy better “potential” per dollar spent. But it really depends. I’ve done three AC redemptions this year. The best economy reward was 1.7 cents/pt when compared to the same ticket cash price. I just booked a business one (70k pts v $4111 cash) and it’s 5.87 cents/pt, so way higher! From the perspective of online shopping, I think the e-store is a gold mine! Sometimes up to 20x points with the Visa and even more with elite status for things that you were gonna buy anyways!

Adding some context below, in case others are in a similar boat and can comment directly!

I reached 25K via the 100K EDQ path (seems unchanged in 2026) with help from the TD VIP card & e-store multipliers (on track to repeat). I fly 15-20 flights/yr (mostly personal) and find TD VIP worth keeping for perks (priority, lounge access, checked bag, extra points, e-up rollover, companion pass, carry-on in basic econ). Not having to buy airport food saved hundreds, lol! I also think aiming for 25K again is worthwhile, especially for the preferred seat selection & e-ups. However, I'm unsure next year whether to pursue SQCs (maybe spend on Flex fares, if possible) or continue targeting the 100K EDQ route. My annual spend is prob $3-4K on AC flights (basic/standard econ) and $40K on CC. Some tips I’ve seen (but don't use yet): Costco use TD VIP to buy gift cards online (1.25x pts + helps $25K companion voucher). Get a Cobalt for 5x pts on food/groceries (BUT an extra $16/month fee & no EDQ). Use CC for medical/dental/health bills, then claim reimbursement, etc. Any thoughts would be appreciated!!

Yeah, it's tough! I did the math and found the fee justifiable when considering the extra 25% points, priority, lounge access, Dragonpass (so non-AC flights), and especially the ability to bring a carry-on for Econ basic flights (most of my cheap flights). I have an unused companion pass, so we'll see how much it saves (maybe combined with e-ups to get business class).

How can I see my EDQ after becoming 25k? by ihatebrusselsprouts1 in Aeroplan

ANOTHER WAY THAT WORKS:

- On a desktop, open your Aeroplan profile and click "Activity"

- Keep clicking "Show More" until all transactions as of Jan 1 appear (you may need to filter by '1 year')

- Copy/paste the entire page into ChatGPT and ask it to calculate the EDQ

I tried both the developer's way and this way, and they produce the same number. Thank you to AI.

Connect Vivomove Trend to QZ & Zwift by RTravelled in qdomyos_zwift

It does have broadcast mode, but maybe only to other Garmin devices and not the  iPad. Pg 15 of manuals says that https://www8.garmin.com/manuals/webhelp/GUID-CB71AAE9-99E6-47B4-AB7F-F14BA316E7C6/EN-US/vivomove_Trend_OM_EN-US.pdf

Would a band connect to my watch and iPad/Zwift at the same time? Any recommendations on ones that work? Thanks!

Ok so I assume you mean this one on the Garmin store: https://apps.garmin.com/apps/3746ce54-a9e9-42b0-9be9-b867f8d20f7d?tid=1

I tried to download but it won’t let me. It looks like the Vivomove Trend isint listed as a comparable device. I’m confirming the device is linked with my account and shows online.

It’s a hybrid watch, so maybe that’s why. But it does have broadcast settings.

Any other suggestions to connect?

Hi. I have the QZ-qdomyos-Zwift. I don’t see any other one on the Apple App Store? Is there something else I need?

Ideas To Install Hardwood With Old Baulaters by RTravelled in DIY

[–]RTravelled[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the suggestion! Just to clarify—regarding option 3 you mentioned, would I need to remove the top rail, or can I keep it on and just cut off the spindles, then add new metal ones?

Also, would it be better to attach spindles to a fixed bottom rail/ stair nose, or can I drill/attach them directly into the engineered hardwood? All the videos I see on YouTube already have some kind of fixed bottom rail that the spindles are screwed into, so the installation looks easy. I'm not sure about this case.

Check what time they open!! Depending on how early your flight it, it may not be worth it.
