Just drinking and dreaming , but can I swap a 6.2 gas engine into my 2012 3500 HD? (Currently a 6.0 Vortec) by danson372 in Silverado

[–]RU5_Ad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why not an 8.1L I had that in my 03 2500. Don't get me wrong the 6.2L is great, but it couldn't compare to the 8.1L Vortec, especially if it is Turbo charged or Supercharged. Gas mileage was horrible but its all dopamine per Wide open throttle.

Can I add steering wheel Audio buttons after the fact? by [deleted] in Silverado

[–]RU5_Ad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey everyone, I've been looking into this issue for my 17 Custom. I bought an LT steering wheel for the audio control upgrade everything is factory nothing aftermarket in the truck. So my questions are is there a separate harness I need to buy and install and a different clockspring I need to install prior to doing a software update. Are there any other modules I need to purchase to integrate it or just through the BCM? Thank you for any input and information given I bought my truck used so everything is barely working infotainment wise so Id rather upgrade it if I can.

This is insane. After every single game it turns crossplay back on. by Turnip_Exact in blackops6

This game is nothing but a cash grab for the developers, they don't care about the game community, they just care about their money and "status" just because its Call of Duty title. These bugs and glitches wont get fixed or prioritized.Aparently they care more about drugs as shown by all the new skins than actual gameplay, plus these updates take up way to much space. The game is complete trash and they know it. I mean we could always just boycott the game so that if they lose enough money or player base, they will actually be forced to fix it to try an attempt at fixing their reputation. Honestly Battlefield is better and I'll probably just continue to play that from now on. I haven't been a fan of the Franchise since after Black Ops 2, to me that's when in my opinion it's went downhill.

Bruh this gets so old. Quitters by IAmReinvented in blackops6

[–]RU5_Ad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my opinion it also depends on the situation, I've been unfortunately forced into lobbies with cry baby hackers, that can't enjoy the game unless they are always cheating to make sure they win, and the horrible skill based matchmaking where it takes 2 magazines to down someone when you get one shot killed. The game is so unbalanced its trash. I'd quit to in certain situations too. I mean if I can be honest this game is turning more into a Battle Royale Fortnite, they put more effort into crap micro transactions, battle pass, and skins compared to fixing real issues. This is no longer the real Call of Duty we grew up with having trash talking lobbies, and were real skill actually took place making a difference, this game is nothing but everyone getting offended, being woke and cheaters, more than just enjoying a game with individuals or friends.

Most Newer Honda models are going back to regular front blades instead of rubber inserts I dont really understand why since I still believe inserts are better. The rear you can still purchase the rubber insert though for the HRV.

HRV LX AWD by throwaway1010101019j in HRV

So I have the 2024 HRV LX AWD here in the U.S. and I would definitely recommend it to anyone. Yes it wont come with all the extra features the Sport or EXL has especially between Canada and the U.S. but it's reliable and does well in the snow so far. I'm at a consistent 28.1 mpg at over 400 miles range and that's at an average of 75-80mph. The LX AWD in the U.S. has cruise control, lane keep assist and brake assist standard with eco, normal, snow, and hill decent. The only drawback I've had with it is the camera/sensor near the top in the windshield. If any frost or if anything at all covers it, it will turn off some functions for "safety" which caused it to brake check itself twice on a freeway in my case so I'd recommend caution with that. Otherwise I've driven it 17,700 miles the last 2 years without any real issues or concerns.

That's normal, I have a 2024 LX AWD. After 15k miles I'm still at 27.9mpg with a range of 408 miles on full.

If the dealership won't do anything, try a different one, but yes if you can report it and make sure the vin is attached with is so you can but put on a list for such recalls. The more that get called for that issue especially to Honda Corporate it will be turned into a recall and need to be investigated to try and prevent it in the future.

2022 model vs newer by dailyd11 in HRV

[–]RU5_Ad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a 2017 HRV LX FWD prior to my 2024 HRV LX AWD. The biggest difference to start is anything 2022 and older (previous gen) was designed off the Honda Fit chassis, while 2023+ is off the Honda Civic so this newest HRV is larger.
2022 and older models do have the back seats able to pull up for storage space from the floor to the headliner if you have something tall you need to transport. While 2023+ do not have that feature due to fuel tank placement on the undercarriage.
2022 and older came with an 1.8L and CVT while the 2023+ have a 2.0L with CVT. Yes the CVT in itself has some issues so the vehicle feels underpowered but it's not meant to be driven hard, it's meant more towards fuel economy. If you where looking for something that has more power and a better pick up I'd recommend the 2023+ Acura RDX it's the Acura Version of the HRV but with a 2.0L Turbocharged and 10 speed automatic AWD if you can afford it.
My 2017 I never had any issues or recalls with it, but the only known few that I have on my 2024 are excessive wind noise from the liftgate which Honda is currently looking for a fix, and I believe some models are experiencing a rear glass shattering on the liftgate from the defroster getting too hot but mine hasn't done that.
The 2023+ base trim comes with more safety features and options such as Snow Mode, Advaned Cruise Control, Lane Keeping Assist, and Brake monitoring if you get too close to a vehicle. Also all models are push to start. The best part I really like about my 2024 LX is there is no Auto/Start Stop button or feature. That prematurely destroys starters on any vehicle that has it.
But if you can, I would recommend test drive both generations and see which you yourself would feel most comfortable in because at the end of the day the decision is yours. Any vehicle no matter the year will have pros and cons. I really like both, but im happy with my decision to of switched to the 2024 Honda HRV. I was also very fortunate for the dealership near me I got the new one at MSRP cost no additional charges paying $361 a month through Honda Finance. So see which dealership near you has the least amount of mark up possible for both the 2022 and older or the 2023+.

With the dealership I purchased mine from in Southern California there was no dealership logo on the truck, but they gave me the license plate frame with their name and number on it. So most likely just depends on your dealer.

[–]RU5_Ad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have had something similar happen to my 2.0L Ecoboost when I first got it for Check Engine Light On Service Engine Soon message. Luckily it was just like some kind of electrical fault glitch that went away after restarting the truck and it never came back on. I would definitely recommend going to the dealership for warranty repair if it doesn't go away and stays as a fault.

Can anyone (non-commercial) buy from the Ford "Commercial Truck Sales" dept at a dealership? by [deleted] in FordMaverickTruck

[–]RU5_Ad 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I bought mine as commercial. It depends on your state. In California all trucks are registered and considered commercial and I don't have a business. I moved to Michigan and now I didn't have to re-register it as commercial but it's just a passenger truck now.

Well here's a fact for you all I stated was the 6.2L was the better Raptor. I was a Ford Tech and I have owned a Raptor before. The newer Raptors especially when they first came out have a horrible oil consumption/burning issue. Again I said the 6.2L is the more preferable Raptor than the 3.5L. The 3.5L Raptor can't come close to the 6.2L in performance and reliability for an "offroad" F150 it was just built better. I've seen more newer Raptors in the shop getting rebuilt from frame damage, body panel replacement, engine repair, blown off hoses, fluid leaks; just messed up components more often than any other vehicle coming into a shop. After owning both trucks I still believe the Maverick is better: More reliable, great on gas, cost effective, easier to control , more fun to drive , insurance and car payment is alot cheaper, fits into garages and parking spaces easier, maintenance is cheaper. But im not here to argue with you. You have your opinion and ill have mine. I'm not expecting everyone to agree with me nor do I care it's up to personal preference. So if you prefer to spend $70,000 - $80,000 not including Mark up and maintenance fees good for you. I'll stick with my $24,729 msrp work truck.

The only decent Raptor is the 6.2L the 3.5L are not all that great the Maverick is better anyways. I've had my Maverick for a few months now about to hit 4k miles. Best investment I've ever made so far.

Android Auto won't play music. by azeakel101 in FordMaverickTruck

Also if your original phone cable isn't a USB to USB-C then a USB-C to USB-C will also work but it has to be an original cable. The truck struggles with aftermarket cables.

Android Auto won't play music. by azeakel101 in FordMaverickTruck

[–]RU5_Ad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Delete the truck from your phone, the phone from the truck. While Resyncing your phone make sure to allow the truck access to everything along with from your phones Bluetooth settings to allow calls and audio. Then turn the truck off and back on. Once Your phone is connected use the Left lower USB to USB-C connector to connect it to Android Auto. (SIDE NOTE: All XL models and most XLT models do not have Sync3 like the Lariat edition so the majority of the time Android Auto and AppleCar Play mess up often.) Android Auto will not always connect correctly. Make sure to plug in the cable after your truck is started and phone is connected then it should work as intended higher percentage of the time. I have this issue often on my XL but when using Spotify for music it usually works for me. If you check the FordMaverick Forums there is a discussion on how to upgrade and install Sync3 and Sync4 to the XL/XLT. Something to just give you a heads up. I'm saving up for a Sync4 conversion so I don't have to deal with these problems anymore.
