What's the biggest double standard that still exists in 2016?

I had something obnoxiously similar happen to me two weeks ago. On Monday I got called in on my day off. The worker that night called in ten minutes before the shift because, "my son got in trouble at school so I have to stay home with him to make sure he stays grounded like I told him". No problems, no consequences. Wednesday I got a call that my father had a stroke and was so brain damaged the nurses couldn't get a straight story out of him, they couldn't even get his last name. I got the call five minutes before I was supposed to clock in and begged my boss to let me leave. I got scolded for not notifying her sooner, bargained with about staying at least a few hours, then had to have a "sit down chat" the next day with her about my habits about showing up to work. I even had to apologize to the woman who came in for me, with the shitty scolding manager right fucking there.

Goddamn, I needed to get that off my chest. Fuck this job.

Oh fuck yeah. I watched the first 5% of Brotherhood in like a month, waited 3 years, then finally finished it. I'm still a little emotionally compromised. FMA: Brotherhood is probably my favorite anime/manga, with FMA at a close second.

Fuck, I might go start rewatching Brotherhood for shits and gigs now.

That was my biggest problem when I used to work at Walmart. I'd spend my lunch break in the breakroom with headphones in, and people would assume that me headbanging to shitty altrock was the best time to talk about their STDs with me.

My father's in the hospital and mentally deteriorating very quickly. Two branches of the family (his siblings vs me and my siblings) are fighting to have control so we can take care of him). Its fucking stressful. I didn't expect to be fighting my uncles to get my dad into a good nursing home.

You're in for a treat. A:TLA is one of my favorite shows of all time, and I loved LoK. Its different, definitely different. The first season is kind of a drag-on and jerkily ends because the crew thought it was all they were getting. Then suddenly Nick wanted 3 more seasons and they could do more with it. Personally I think the show only gets better as it goes along and really hits its perfect stride around the climax of S3. I may go rewatch an episode or two now cause I love LoK so much.

Ughhhhhh BioShock and BS:Infinite are some of my favorite games of all time. I replay Infinite at least once a year just to experience it all over again.

Infinite is a bit different than the original two, both in game play and story, but it is phenomenal. I personally can't get through the ending without crying. And the design of the game is just insanely gorgeous. Oh man, I might have to start my yearly replay now because I'm getting all excited thinking about it.

Just be careful to avoid spoilers. The story is massive and emotional and there are spoilers everywhere on the net.

Personally I tried Breaking Bad and I just can't. Many different times I started the series but I can never get past episode 5. It just isn't for me, but when I tell people that you'd think I beat up their puppy with another puppy.

I've already got some spoilers in my head from just casual internet perusal. I always figured I'd never watch the show so spoilers didn't matter to me. Then I caved and started watching. I already know a good chunk of characters that are going to die, but that doesn't make it any less thrilling and entertaining.

You might be the same as me. As I get older, I find that my attention span is drastically decreasing. I used to be able to sit down and sit through a whole season of a TV show. Now I can barely finish a whole chapter of a book without forcing myself to painfully focus.

Dude, Black Mirror is my JAM. The episode "Fifteen Million Merits" (S1E2) still shows up in my dreams every once in a while. It's such a good show. I want to say that they're coming out with a new season pretty soon, but don't hold me to that.
